Both are wrong, it's not vanilla it's artificial chemical food colouring

I think its kewra. Vanilla essence is brown in color. But it was transparent.

@@1ineed looking at the quantity of chicken biryani hi made that food colour he added was in a decent quantity it was not too much as u mentioned and yes you can skip food colour if you don't want it in your biryani. because it already has red chilli powder which makes it looks light red considering the amount it gets into the marination.
