CBSLA's Joy Benedict gets a behind-the-scenes look at how deputies with the LA County Sheriff's Department are working to combat the dangerous trend of street racing sideshows.
So they caught a minor driving with no drivers license in a unregistered car with no license plates and let him go with a warning? I'm not that old but I doubt I would've been shown much leniency at that age. This is also part of the problem, no consequences or repercussions.
bad laws just a slap on the wrist and the same kid will be back doing this again, ha ha , the American laws are a joke and the world is laughing at the lame Americans.
Just back in 2006 I got stopped by cops while doing the serious crime of riding my bicycle home on the sidewalk late at night without lights from my girlfriend's. It was my first time being stopped by cops, and they yelled at me and threatened to throw me in jail just for asking if I had to sign the ticket. I left so traumatized that I've hated cops ever since. I now find joy in the news whenever another one gets killed on duty. One less pig.
In our town couple years ago a tow truck company had room and let them do it on his property, kept them off the streets until lack of insurance stopped it. Give these kids a place to play, then let them destroy their cars safely.
In addition to using deadly force in defending one’s home, a person can legally use this force in self-defense when: he/she believes he/she, or someone else, is in imminent danger of being killed or suffering great bodily injury, he/she believes he/she must use deadly force to prevent death or injury, and he/she uses an appropriate level of force (under the circumstances) in self-defense.
@LG Leblanc its about the money. the city will auction because they make more money, then they can do it again with the new owner racing on the streets.
Now hold on, when you say “innocent people are being killed” are you referring to the people standing in the middle of the road during this nonsense? Because I see that as plus.
So they caught someone with the no license driving and told him to go home, I remember a cop told me to throw my weed away and go home when we got caught in Montebello high school skating and smoking, know what we did? Went to the park and got high, I learned nothing that day lmao
As long as LASD has enough manpower to stop one sideshow per day and impound all the cars and suspend their licenses in that one sideshow, then words will get around, and the other idiots will think twice because their life revolves around their car, and they won't want to risk having it impounded.
No make the kids get jobs tell them the have to pay so much a month, or go to jail. Even if they have to work to jobs , weekends, holidays, etc. But also sell thier car.
IMPOUND and CRUSH. Let the little turds finish paying for a car that now looks like a hay bale. Also.. basically 4 roads leading into this intersection. Two large wreckers with enough 3/4 wire rope to block off each street. . None of the rats will escape the crusher.
Considering I've personally watched a sheriff car make a quick u-turn and speed away when a group started to block the intersection, they aren't doing much.
I would agree with that. The real result of this and skyrocketing crime in this country will be an authoritarian increase and technocratic rise. The technological police state. The shit you've seen in movies is about to become reality. Society gets what it allows. Eventually crime will get so bad that the citizens beg for a boot on their face just to stop the crime. Just wait and see. This is an agenda. The lawlessness is part of the agenda.
Their efforts end at any real consequences. I've seen it in person. All they do is shoo them away from one city to another, from one block to another. If they wanted to change it, they would coordinate blocking any escape.
The mayor, prosecutor and governor are truly responsible. They allow it. This honestly isn't even a big deal compared to the robbery, murder and homelessness in the city.
All takeover drivers should have the air removed from their tires by cops, put tow boots on every car, impound and give them five thousand dollar Fine to get car out. No exceptions. And jail time for every one of them. It would be hell living down there and dealing with this, I absolutely would call for legal action. No one can sleep or feel safe, and it scares children and pets. Get these people in jail.
@@donking3540 Do you have any idea how expensive real-estate in California is? In addition to the all the regulations the Democrats are pushing in that State and closed some tracks.
😂😂😂😂when you call the Compton sheriff's...they immediately say ..oh that's the highway patrol issue...they never show up..what a joke the Compton sheriff's are...🙈🤷
See when we use to cruize whittier Blvd in the late 1970 s there was no crime, just slow traffic from low ridders, to ricky racers. It was just slow fun. Sure the cops blocked off u turn areas. There was no harm to anyone. Just kids showing off their cars that bounce, or looking for men or women.
County should build a huge drift pit in the middle of desert along with a 1/4 mile track. Anyone caught on the street, bring back crushing cars and having owners watch. Boom done! Simple lol
Find and designate a space for these individuals to do their "HOBBIES" and get them off the streets.. requiring a small fee by spectators and participants to cover insurance liabilities.. sound like a sensible solution to this growing problem..
I don't understand how those people simply get away with it. They need to have their driving privilege revoked for life and sent to jail. Completely unacceptable and reckless.
Why don’t they use drones like they are in San Diego to grab license plates and images of those that attend and go get the ones they couldn’t catch in that moment? That way you can’t blame it on man power or aka laziness in my opinion.
I agree , but I think that’s part of the negotiations that the police departments are using as an excuse for not properly enforcing. I do see a correlation between the lack of officer enforcement and lack of criminal prosecution. But hiring more cops. We’ve done that before. How about changing laws, using technology
And that should tell you they’re not caring about the phone so they get so many points on your license you take your license away to get caught driving without a license to take the vehicle away keep the ball rolling guys
Naturally. The alternative is not appealing and they gave him a way out. Maybe he learned his lesson. Don't hangout with the wrong crowd and start focusing on school/job.
Mr. Tech companies pls designed something that can absolutely change this all for once n for good maybe car insurance requiring data readings and forwarding to dmv and having dmv citing u with dmv points
New report by the United Nations released on Monday says that while the rate of new people being born around the USA is certainly slowing down, the global population is expected to continue growing for many more decades. expect more of them in the coming years
These people are so cheap cant even pay to take it to the track. Imagine one of those people feeling suicidal and starting a mass shooting there. They block the streets it would be a real dead end. These people dont have any brains. It sucks for the hardworking class who live where this happens and the people who get stuck on the street during these take overs. There is alot of money that can be made for the city at the street takeovers. Let's change the law and make it happen. Let's get this money. Let's get those cars.
Side shows create a lot of revenue for the state. Cars get destroyed, tires are bought. Lots of gas used. The only fun is its illegal. If the cops didnt do anything and never busted a show it would get boring. The fun of moving spots is just the police encouraging it.
You need a 21 Jump Street kind of unit to infiltrate the youth and get ahead of these events. I’ll volunteer. I’m 49 but I think I can pull it off like Steve Buscemi.
