Some artists do a concept album. These guys decided to take that up several levels and spread it across 4 albums.

The lyric “start a concert a complete diversion” they did literally that. They did a very small gig in London and called it a complete diversion. I managed to get tickets and it was amazing and while they were on stage they announced a tour. So yes they succeeded in diverting us. 😅

For that “fly on the wall” feeling MTV unplugged and location session The Hype are great. I personally love the Storyteller Performance live from Brooklyn.

YAY! All aboard the Lore Train! I'm so hyped!!! You got it right; Nico (aka Blurryface) is the head of the nine Bishops, and a character Tyler originally created as an alter-ego during the Blurryface album, to represent his own inner struggles. It's so cool, how much deeper the story has gotten since then! Levitate immediately follows up this video, and rounds out what's called the Trench Trilogy. It's a banger, but super short compared to their other stuff, so this should be fun!

Ok. Quick summary. Nico is Blurryface. He his Tyler's nemesis. East is the way out of DEMA. Every time he escapes he collects a yellow flower. Josh is Tyler's guide to freedom and in his mind. Remember the two kids at the end of Nico and the niners. They will show up again in The Outside and in Paladins Strait. Next is Levitate. All rap for three minutes straight. Get to the outside then watch I am Clancy on your own before jumping into Clancy

If you haven’t already been informed yet, those neon lights are the building of “neon gravestones”, which is one of their songs btw.

Nico is the head of the bishops - he is also Blurryface (before it's revealed his name is Nico) your jumpsuit video never posted but assuming you saw it in this video Tyler (Clancy) has been recaptured at the end of Jumpsuit and wakes up in Dema - the Banditos from Jumpsuit come back to get him to help him escape again Tyler produces most of their music in his basement studio in Columbus "East is up" is basically directions on how to escape Dema - but i do think it correlates with the sun and yellow being a symbol of hope in this world

Since you mentioned the production, checking out " twenty one pilots - Løcatiøn Sessiøns: The Hype (Berlin)" Basically shows Tyler in Berlin doing a remix of T0P's song "the hype". Really sick video and shows off Tyler's genius.

This trilogy of MV releases (Jumpsuit, Nico & the Niners, and Levitate) is what got me completely hooked on TØP! ❤ They released them one every week (or every other week?), creating the anticipation for the next part of the story. Each it's own mini movie. Love these guys!

their music means so much to me especially the lyrics. they consistently reference the night and when the sun comes up. it has always resonated with me as i had an abusive childhood and the night was not safe. not to speak for anyone but Tylers music refers to suicide alot. i love the part when you noticed that East is up and when the sun comes up. hope to see more

Ok. Let’s remind you some of the stuff, cuz I see you a bit lost So all of this story is a huge metaphor for your mental health and battle with your own insecurities. Nico (aka blurryface) - is the main character (antagonist) in the storyline, that represents Tyler's insecurities Tyler usually wears black paint on his hands and neck during his live shows and music videos for the album, to represent Blurryface and how he is not sure in his music ( hands - instruments , neck - words, voice). Dema - represents a place (city), where Nico has jurisdiction over Tyler. Kinda of a place where his insecurities have a control over him. Trench is the place in-between this control and "the freedom". Banditos - a rebel organization who is trying to rescue people trapped in Dema and trying to help people to Leave The City of Dema (fight with their insecurities and depression). This is an allegory to your support system - friends, family, fans of the TOP in Tyler’s case. Red color - blurryface era (depression, insecurities, bishops) Yellow color - trench era (hope, support, family, friends) The hole storyline is a Tyler’s attempt to brake the cycle in his mental health.

And I'm going to reiterate what someone else said....after you're done with all this if you want to watch them and listen to them put together music then check out their MTV Unplugged (not so unplugged!!) It's amazing to watch them build up their songs. They're on point, in tune, and so creative (as usual). I even bought the CD from that performance - it's so good. I can't hype it up enough.

This video was filmed in Ukraine and I wonder if rebels of Ukraine that resisted initial ruzzian invasion had the yellow tape as well as blue on their uniforms, still do and if the yellow stripes have something to do with the inspiration and resistance to tyranny.
