Very beautiful collection of Streptocarpus. I love the large flowered ones with the double flowers but also love the one with the simple flower. In the end, they are all adorable.
Black Aphids give me the most problem on some of my streptocarpus. I brush some off and use a tiny bottle of insecticide which seems to keep them under control.
I have NO east windows in my dwelling 😞 Your plants are beautiful ! I've only tried a couple Streps. in the past and was not successful. At present I have only one African violet. Looks perfectly healthy but refuses to do anything for me. I love Episcias too. May have to go plant shopping again !
Hi im happy I found this channel can I ask are you living in Ireland as you have alot of videos on plants I'd like to try and being Irish myself it would be great to know your growing it here at home. Cheers Darren.
I do love your Steptocarpus collection. They are so pretty, unfortunately I don't have the space. I found that snails, slugs, mealybug and other creepy crawlies (unfortunately not spider mites) don't like my inorganic media. I only ever find live ones on my mounted orchids. Thanks for sharing they are beautiful.
Help! The leaves on my streptocarpus are getting patches of spots where it looks like the chlorophyll is missing (cream spots). Is it that they are not getting enough light or could it be a water problem (too much/too little). Novice here - any advice gratefully received!
Hi! Would you do a follow up to your bleach trial that you did, maybe back in December? I also tried it on a couple of plants, with not great results. Like to hear about yours. Also, from this video, what do you use as your potting media (compost in UK?)? Thank you!
Hello. Here is the update video on the bleaching... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-i-64f-USD0c.html At the end of this video is a link to my streptocarpus potting video. This has the information on the potting mix I use.
A lot of lovelies, but DE-Hare is still my favorite, simple yet elegant. And mealies 😡 . I really don't have a problem with them but they did infect one Paph. I have been trying to get rid of them for five months, I think they are gone now but so much damage done I don't know that the plant will actually recover (and being a Paph, it will take quite a while to know).
I like them, and your favourite is also mine too... That colour! Not sure how they'd fair here, although I do occasionally see them for sale. Grrr... Mealybugs, destroy them!
I am also not sure how streps would do in your climate. I was in contact with a Texan grower some time ago and she found them challenging. Glad we share such great taste :)
