Should we always pause at the bottom of a movement to negate the stretch reflex, or are there times when it is appropriate to use the stretch reflex in training?

Its such insane TUT. Doing 8 of these would be like doing 18 normal reps. How would you rep range this?
@travishoupt3127
@travishoupt3127 Год назад
You should lower your weight to accommodate the TUT. I'd suggest finding a good weight that allows you to hit about 12 reps with great form

Yes, but it should be noted that with this type of training, you are going to be a weakling compared to your muscle size. If the only thing you care about is how you look, go for it.
@StrongBodyandMind33
@StrongBodyandMind33 Год назад
@@adamscott8831 oh no, I’m not suggestion one abandons strength training completely. Quite the contrary, every session with a compound movement SHOULD include 2-3 sets of heavy training.
@jerzey22
@jerzey22 Год назад
@@adamscott8831 completely untrue. You will be weak COMPARED to a pure strength-based program, but my no means are you a weakling. I can say this with confidence from being a former powerlifter than actually training under Jared for eight months. My strength has only increased. Don’t assume.

@@adamscott8831if you can perform 8-20 reps with good technique of a low weight, you’ll get strong. Then you can do 1-5 of a much higher weight, with good technique.

What exercise is this? Is it better than RDLs? I tend to shake alot during the stretch in an RDL and feel I loose the tension in the hamstrings. Any recommendations?

rdl yes
@wilsonram39
@wilsonram39 Год назад
RDL- go for it, the end range is maximal stretch and at a weight you can handle. Regular Deadlift? I'd say not a chance - the amount of weight you're lifting is too liable to lead to injury relative to the benefits of control. If doing some strength work, Deadlift fine, but if you wanna get that maximal hypertrophy focus on the posterior, just do RDLs or Good Mornings like here. There's a reason they're doing *this* movement and *Not* deadlifts.

Is that what you're supposed to use that machine for? We have one at my gym, everyone uses it like a weird squat variation.
@omar_adel1250
@omar_adel1250 Год назад
This usage mimics the good mornings, but I actually don't like it at all because of the unnatural position the neck has to be in, and I very much enjoy the carry over of the good mornings to my raw squat.
@bengale1263
@bengale1263 Год назад
Can probably use as both
@FitnessCoachBrando
@FitnessCoachBrando Год назад
The machine is a Hack Squat machine. It’s main purpose is for the Hack Squat which people enjoy as a means of overloading the legs with reduced load on the spine and an easier time focusing on the muscles of the lower body. They are mimicking a Good Morning with this particular Hack Squat, which is a well established and effective use of the machine. As a comment above me noted, some find it to be too awkward of a position for them. As with all exercises, you will slowly find how to make them most effective for your anatomy over time. Happy lifting
