Strikers 1945 (ストライカーズ1945?) is a vertically scrolling shoot 'em up arcade game released in 1995 by Japanese company Psikyo. In Japan, Strikers 1945 was ported to both PlayStation and Sega Saturn in 1996 by Atlus and later ported to the PlayStation 2 as part of Psikyo Shooting Collection Vol. 1: Strikers 1945 I & II by Taito (also released in Europe under the name 1945 I & II: The Arcade Games by Play It in 2004).
It was followed by Strikers 1945 II in 1997 and Strikers 1999 in 1999, as well as a remake of Strikers II for SNK's Neo Geo called Strikers 1945 Plus.
In 1945, World War II ended. Soon, there was peace, but an organization of high-ranking military officers from all over the world form a global army known as CANY. Their mission was to conquer the world. CANY activity was found in areas like the Soviet Union, United States, Japan and even Germany. It is revealed that CANY had weapons never seen before from rockets to mechanical walkers. The world quickly formed a group of pilots and planes called the Strikers whose mission is to rid of CANY from the world.
Each plane in Strikers 1945 has three attacks: A normal shot, a charged shot, and a bomb that clears the screen of minor enemies and bullets. Both the normal shot and the charged shot can be strengthened by grabbing power-ups and extra bombs can be collected. Gold bars, which are found by destroying certain buildings or enemies, can be collected for bonus points. After the defeat of the final boss, the player's time, number of gold bars, and number of enemies killed are added up for each level and, if high enough, marked with a silver or gold medal. In the Japanese arcade version, a hidden post-credits bonus could be unlocked if the player beat the entire game without losing a life.
Shinden is a little bit different than P-51 in use, for sure it's a faster plane but shares almost the same straight missile attack, but you can spawn a maximum number of 4 on maximum power level, and they burn for 1-2 seconds to cause damage to any hostiles around the explosion. The bomb attack is "Shinden Sword" it unleashes an energy wave in shape of Shinden that is extremely lethal to bosses and nullifies projectiles, as a special attack it unleashes support planes to shoot horizontally and vertically. Pilot of Shinden is Aine, a character that appears in other Psikyo's shooters like Samurai Aces and Gunbird II,
