my grandmother had a big zenith 12-s-267 with incredible reception. in the early 70s we would listen to g.o.o. broadcasts from the ryman featuring all the bluegrass and country greats still around at the time. shame they're all gone now. i'm still in the market for one of those big zeniths.
As a mediocre guitar player watching these videos and looking into stringbean his story has been really enjoyable and sad. That double quick clawhammer tho... , Stringbean lives on through the ages.
Watching an episode of GUN SMOKE. This guy plays this song on a guitar. This song has been around a long time since, theoretically that show is taking place in the 1800’s. 1860ish I believe
I was a huge Hee Haw fan. I loved them all. So heartbreaking that Stringbean and his wife were murdered for a few dollars. Grandpa Jones and his wife found them. String and Grandpa were going fishing, the wives were going to hang out. So sad.

Been looking for years of an old song I heard. Stringbean said "ole folk down in the mountain, grinding sugarcane, makin barrels of molasses sweeten little liza jane" but it's not this song he said that line in another song
this performance was done in the 50's. string was wearing his black hat. He later changed his look and costume. Question for anyone who can answer. im curious, knowing that string didnt drive. even roy clark confirmed this. Does anyone have idea as to why he didnt drive? Also, string and estelle had no children.

Stringbean wasn't sagging that was part of his stage outfit to give the illusion that ha hade a real long waist and short legs plus the difference between stringbean and a gangster is stringbean doesn't have his doxers hanging out the "sagging" actually was adapted from prison but if you sagged your pants in prison it was easy access for somone else to get into said pants
+Annette Kastner color came in 1954 for tv. Local networks had it in '56 one station per a city or per a state. It wouldn't surprise me if it was kineoscoped in color.
