I was looking to fish for striped bass at Hatchery Saddle Point. With the water levels rising at Lake Mead I didn't know what to expect but the stripers (although small) were very active. I was bank fishing using frozen anchovies as bait and was able to hook up to several stripers. Let me know if you have any questions and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for watching.

Good video!! It's fun getting all those bites. Small fish or not. Water seems to be rising. Good times 👍.

great video and enjoy watching I haven't made it out to lake mead yet, have you noticed where they are biting at I was at bass pro yesterday getting a couple things and there board says the bite is happening in overton. Keep catching them and maybe I will run into you one of these days while out there fishing lol

Hi Roni, I just went back to Hatchery Saddle Point last week and was able to hook up to better size stripers. The striper boil was on between 5:30 am and 6:30 am. Got one on a stick bait and another one with frozen anchovy. I took a family trip in June so I’m behind editing my videos but hope to get caught up soon. If you do see me out on the water please stop by to say hi. Thanks for watching and happy 4th to you and your family!

Dad, Good video (they always are). What time of day were you there? How long did you stay and I noticed you wore warm clothing (chilly?. Also why don't you use the tail of the anchovy? Thanks! George Bonafino

Hi George, Thanks for watching. I got there around 6:30 am. It was mid June so before the current heat wave arrived. I don’t like to wear sun screen so I usually wear thin long sleeve clothing and neck gaiter for sun protection. I stayed about 3 hours and then the bites suddenly stopped. I went back last week to hopefully land some bigger stripers and was able to hook up to few bigger ones. There really isn’t a reason for not using the tail other than there is not much meat and if I was fish I would prefer the head and mid section. Plus, we’re only allowed 2 hooks so I rather use the head piece and mid section and toss the tail. I am still editing more videos fishing at the pier in June as I need some catching up to do after a family vacation. 😉 Hope this helps. Happy 4th to you and your family!

I find that generally where I fish, Havasu, the strippers don't like heads. I do use tail sections and they stay on the hook better. Try it

@chuckstith3840 Thanks Chuck for the reply. Havasu is a distance from Henderson. I will try your suggestion at Lake Mead. George Bonafino

Happy Fourth of July! Great video I wonder if you fish on the weekends sometimes? I would like a chance to fish with you maybe learn some tips from the bank. Do you own a float tube? I was gifted one and looking for an opportunity to try it out as well

Thank you for watching my videos. Yes, I do go out on the weekends, depending on if we have visitors or the honeydew list.😉 Indeed it will be fun to fish together as I’m sure you could teach me something as well. Unfortunately, I do not own a float tube but I do have a kayak if/when it’s not too windy. Let me check my schedule and I’ll get back to you. Thanks 🙏.

I’m thinking of going out Sunday morning to Saddle Point (or Sunset lookout) if you’re interested.

I can go tomorrow morning. I want to go back to Saddle point as I had fun last week with Striper boils using top water lure. Weekends can get busy but I will try to get there between 5:30 am and 6:00 am.

Have you been to the Pier lately?
@Busydad
@Busydad 11 месяцев назад
Yes, I’ve gone there 3 times and I’m editing my video as we speak. I’ve noticed from my first pier video in May, they keep moving the pier back to accommodate the rising water level, which makes it more challenging to reach the deeper water. Luckily I haven’t gotten skunked yet. I may go back to wearing chest waders nearby or using a longer pole to cast out further distance when fishing from the pier.

Better catching small fish than no fish any day.

Yes, I love catching them even if they’re small. Plus I went back a few weeks later to see how much they have grown. Editing video now.

If you put Hatchery Saddle Point in Google Maps it should take you there. Not sure why it doesn’t come up in Apple Maps. Let me know if you need more help. Thanks for watching my videos.
