Hello Im Lance (aka Bundy Bear) and doing these videos is my hobby. I do own Queensland Tractor Spares in Australia where I sell parts and offer technical advise to customers.
Parts seen in our videos can be purchased from www.queenslandtractorspares.co...
We have a lot more than we can offer on our web site available to us and in our store. If you dont see what you would like please email info@queenslandtractorspares.com.au and we will help where we can.
I do try and help with technical advise at bundybearsshed@gmail.com if you have a question or are having trouble with your project.

Hi Lance - I just want to let you know that I fully enjoy watching your restoration videos. I find your way of explaining how something works, really makes it sink in with me. Also, as I am visual learner, it helps a great deal that you take your time filming everything, as wel as taking stuff apart and putting it back together. My son and I will be having a go at getting our 1952 TE-A20 running again, when new parts arrive this week. I am confident I can figure out how to measure if we are getting ignition now, and I am sure I will be able to adjust the timing as well. Only thing I am wondering, should I connect the indicator lamp differently when I have a positive ground tractor, or should I still just measure from the distributor to ground?

I was trying to unthread my draft adjustment. Got it to start loosening with some heat, but towards the end it got tight and I'm pretty sure I bent one of the control arm forks trying to do so :( I'm in the middle of a clutch replacement and some rewiring, but once I get the two halves back together, I'm going to pull this top cover off and see if I did any damage. Thanks for another great video. They've been very helpful

When you are unthreading a fastener and it starts getting tighter, thread it back in a half turn or so then you can continue to remove it. This will help clear the dust that is binding up the threads.

Amazing to watch you videos! Could you give some advice on getting the arms off my TEA20? They seem more stuck than yours. I've been hammering and spraying rust loosener for a day or 2 and they won't come off!! Is using heat a good idea? If there is brass bushings in there they wouldn't like the heat too much, if they still don't come off so I can swap them? I do have a press as well but is it a good idea to try and press the rod through with arms on?
@BundyBearsShed
@BundyBearsShed 2 года назад
Heat is fine, they normally dont have brass the other ones I have had a hard steel bushing. Heat then quench can work as the expansion and contraction may break the rust free.

Greetings Lance! I will be putting my Top Cover together soon and the amount of crap around the shaft was tremendous and had to press the shaft out during disassembly. The manual says not to put anything on the lift shaft when putting back together to prevent the collection of dirt; does not seem logical with the rust factor and taking it apart in the future. What are you thoughts with coating the splines with anti-seize, or, anti-seize and a layer of grease over that. I appreciate your experience and cannot stop watching your videos; thank you.

The oil from the control valve gets to the top through the gearbox housing and there is a lift cover gasket and a pump gasket that can let go over time. The lift cylinder o ring or gasket can be bad as well. Worth a look through a side cover I would think.

It is like traction control, when an implement digs in hard it pushes the top link towards the tractor against the spring and it lifts the implement slightly until the load is back off the spring again.

Hello. I would like to ask you something about my fathers TE20. He has some problems with hydraulic. Hydraulic is working but when the plow is in the ground and has a load, the plow will not lift out of the ground. All other connections can be raised and they work normally, the harrow without load is raised by the hydraulics without problems. My question is what could be the problem with the hydraulics when the plow is attached? I hope you understand what I wanted to say because English is not my native language. Thank you very much in advance for your answer!

Got those lift arms off without setting yourself on fire like I did more than a year and a half ago. It's healed up pretty well but still looks like melted plastic. The center sleeve on mine was way stuck too so we put it in a 20 ton press and heated it with 2 oxy torches bright orange before it let out one heck of a bang once it started to move. That's Wisconsin locktite for ya 😁 I replaced the shaft with a good used one and a sleeve as well. You are right, they are not reproduced, I looked many places. I still have to drop the bottom out of mine and even though I disconnected my valve, somehow I broke it so I ordered a new one. Surprisingly though the gear oil was clean and not much muck in the bottom. Hoping I won't have to do the pump as it works good and my cylinder looks brand new with no scratches so I didn't mess with it. Cheers!

@@Randis94e I pushed mine out the left side (opposite the quadrant) because it fit in the press better. You should be able to go either way but remember that you are pushing out the bronze bushing as well if it is still in there. As I said in my other comment it was tough! If you are in a place where things don't rust as bad as Wisconsin then you may have an easier time of it. Hope so. Lance is lucky they don't have Wisconsin Locktite in Australia.
@Randis94e

@Bundy Bears Shed @t johnson I got it out! Pushed it out like you said after finding something round to press against to even out the pressure. They were tight! But now I'm stuck with what to do with the bushings. There was a little side movement or felt loose when you turned the rod around and I thought it to be big enough to swap the bushings. But I seem to have trouble finding new ones! I've seen in another video of yours Bundy that you cleaned yours and put them back in? How much of a gap or worn can the bushing be before you should swap them?
@tjohnson9051

@@Randis94e My bushings and shaft had about an 1/8th inch of slop in them. Both the bushings and the shaft were worn, The bushings are kinda hard to come by and at one time Lance was looking for some too. There are only 2 places I saw new ones for sale but I don't remember who they were. I'll go back through my receipts and see who I bought them from.
