In this video, stroke survivor Carol shares her inspiring story of recovery and exceeding expectations. Despite being told by doctors that her improvement would plateau, Carol found new ways to challenge herself and regain her independence through a program called FitMi.
The video details Carol's journey after experiencing a brain bleed in February 2016. The stroke left her right side paralyzed, and she required intensive care and inpatient rehabilitation. While initial rehab helped Carol walk with a cane, she was told her progress would likely stall. Determined to keep improving, Carol discovered FitMi by Flint Rehab, a program that allowed her to continue rehabilitation at home.
Through FitMi, Carol was able to track her progress and set personal goals. The program helped her regain confidence and independence, allowing her to drive, ride a bike, and travel with her husband.
This video is a testament to the power of perseverance and the potential for continued improvement after a stroke. It highlights the importance of staying motivated and finding new methods for rehabilitation, even after traditional therapy ends.

Your stroke sounds very much like mine. I too had a brain bleed (caused by untreated HBP) but it effected my left side. I too was in acute care for 1 week and then transfered to neurology where I was undergoing physical therapy. I was excited with how quickly I was able to actually begin walking again! My arm and hand took a while longer, but when I was actually able to put my own hair in a ponytail, I felt liberated! There is still a deficit with my hand especially when I am blow drying and styling my hair especially when using a curling iron. My gait has been my biggest challenge! I was always a super fast walker. I was in and out of a store in no time and everything I did was fast. I was efficient! I was a great multitasker until my stroke! I just wish I could walk confidently and quickly again! I want to be able to again stop on a dime, spin on one foot again and zip around without worrying about falling which I have done MANY times since my stroke! It's amazing how something as easy as using a step stool can be SO dangerous NOW! I'm willing to do anything IF without a doubt I can be "restored". I'm grateful that my life was spared for sure, but now that it has, I want to take advantage of what I could have missed out on! Its true; if you have your health, you pretty much have everything!

I had the bleed in sept 2022...dont remember the first week at all in the acute unit...i started to come back only around elizabeth's funeral which was running roun the clock on tv..walked again in december 2022....my left side was the weak one,...i was asked to 'use it or lose it'...i practiced on those limbs whenever i could...that made the difference i think...i was largely sorted by discharge time....there a few things i cant do like using my left to cut nails on right....but those deficits are minor....every stroke is different..so i cant say whether dayto day practice can sort everything out like it did for me...i met a younger guy who had a stroke in october n got into hospital earlier than i did andhe is still on brace support....my bp was 219 at time of stroke n untreated...same effect....

@wbsat25 I honestly don't remember anything the first week after my stroke either! I DO remember calling 911 and being transported by ambulance and the MRI and having to go to the bathroom SO BAD that I thought my bladder would explode, but of course I couldn't just walk to the toilet and needed to wait for a BED PAN! That was so humiliating! But, the following 6 days I don't remember at all. I wonder why we can't remember the first week though?

I was told I had reached my limit by the staff at hospital rehab in February of 2021. I had a stroke in july of 2020. I didn't believe them and have since improved at least 25% and continue to improve. Your video is very inspiring. Thank you!!

Your story is exactly like mine. I know strokes are different but I don't have much movement in my right hand and was wondering if this would help. I take botox injections but have spasiticty which causes it to clench at times and I don't know if it would still work.

I hope u are well.As a Stroke victim myself let me say this.you are not getting better because of a product, rather by doing excercise over and over again and by doing electrical stimulation with tens machiine.it will take time, save your money,it might take long time.afther hospital,i did my own exercise because i feel my rehab wsd waste of time.It was only 45 mins...some cycling and walking ( for my legs,i got my own bike machne and walked daily for 40 mins)..my hand exetcise they ask me pick things and give me shock by ems tens machine..u can buy it amazon...it is not expensive ...do it evetyday....in time you will recover...
