Advice for men to tap into that masculinity. I remember being a lot more assertive and aggressive growing up but being punished for certain things & I learned to play this passive role that I don’t even relate to. I’ve gotten a lot better in being assertive and certain situations trigger that lion and he comes out, but it’s an on/off thing at times

@@losmit2194 yea a lot of us are punished in our childhood when we are assertive or aggressive because some of us don’t have fathers in the home to deal with it and our mothers sometimes can be very controlling and us being assertive doesn’t line up with their feminist ways so they make us turn that aggression off usually by punishing us in some way. A father would know it’s normal for a man to be assertive and sometimes aggressive and would deal with it accordingly.

Years ago I had a friend whose entire experience of the world was second hand. He read non stop but never did much to test out his beliefs. He lived a lonley life. Today, with social media, it is very easy to retreat into your second hand world at the slightest hint of rejection by a stranger/female and latch onto like minded to commiserate. That is masculinity disemboweling.

Even the lil school girls notice masculinity....For those of us who have or that work with youth...They notice veiny arms, voice tones, etc.... And they LOVED to watch the boys play soccer basketball and football

How to deal w/ unwanted attention unc? I think there is a downside to being masculine, handsome, tall-ish, etc around certain ppl. There's a plethora of women out there who are just robbing men for energy. Most of them will not maintain interest or any consistency on any topic, hobby, study, or activity in life whatsoever unless being dished out constant loads of attention. The main women who do these things are "unattached" women, the ones who casually bring up their husband/boyfriends in conversations right off the bat, but then keep coming around you so that they get noticed.

Excellent video Rom! One of my biggest issues is the deep-seated belief that I'm "not allowed" to be a strong, masculine man due, in large, to the fact that I'm a tall (just under 6'-2"), dark-skinned black man with pronounced African facial features. I'm often afraid that I'll get in trouble, experience more hate and racism, deal with more social rejection, have more run-ins with security guards and police officers, attract more unwelcomed (negative) attention, face more confrontations, etc. Perhaps, the hate, opposition, and demonization of strong, masculine black men is an unfortunate reality in society, and I'll have to accept that reality and develop the "balls and backbone" (shout out to ARC) to face and push through the negativity if I want to unleash those traits. I also have to realize that there's nothing wrong with being strong and masculine, and that having those traits does not make me a "bad" person. Furthermore, I have to realize that tall, dark-skinned black men with African features have just as much of a right to be strong and masculine as any other man ... and it's really not my fault if someone feels threatened or intimidated by me and perceives me as a "bad" person or a thug or a criminal or a predator or a N**r for being strong and masculine.
