In this video I'm welding up all the holes in the strut towers to prepare the entire engine bay for smoothing. I ended up cutting out small plugs to fill the larger holes. This will likely be "part 1" of this section of the engine bay because I didn't do the back sides of the strut tower or the side facing the firewall.
I learned quite a bit about my welder with all of the time I had to spend with it during this segment. I definitely feel like I'm getting better with it.
While I did purchase the Scottrod strut tower covers, I didn't want to leave a pocket of space between them and the strut tower which could harbor corrosion. I felt like the amount of welding I'd be doing would probably be comparable and I'm also not comfortable enough with welding thin sheet metal that I wouldn't make a mess of it.
Definitely a fun project if you're learning how to weld!
