I couldn’t wait to get home from school and watch Stuart Scott. Got my sports recap, while watching the coolest dude, and learning some cool shit to say at school the next day.
Not only did he influence ESPN and sportscasting, but the way he lived and carried himself with dignity and self-respect influenced me and probably countless others. He obviously was a great man and role model. RIP Stuart Scott. Thanks posting this tribute, and Thank you Stuart Scott for everything.
Almost every night when I turn my pillow over I think or say to myself.....Cool as the the other side of the pillow. I miss this guy....He is a true inspiration.
I remember before this guy came out, I just learned the other side of the pillow provided a comfortable, less sweaty alternative during the summer months... Then this guy comes on first thing in the morning and I'm like... 🤯
This speech made me cry like a little baby. Stuart Scott was my favorite ESPN anchor. We lost a great human being but his positive spirit and sportscasting will live with us forever
Umm it was absolutely about black and white! So in death don't try and sneak your entitled ass in here and overlook the very reason he was successful! WE NEEDED REPRESENTATION AND S.S. GAVE US THAT! AT A TIME WE WEREN'T ON TV BEING OURSELVES. BECAUSE WE COULDN'T. THOSE ARE THE WALLS HE TORE DOWN. SO YES, IT WAS 100% ABOUT BLACK AND WHITE!!! NOT TO PUT US FURTHER AGAINST EACH OTHER. BUT TO OFFICIALLY BRING US TOGETHER. RIP S.S.♥️💯
2022 and ive watched this soooo many times. in 2019 i battled pancreatic cancer and went through chemo and radiation. Every time i watch this it just reminds to keep fighting. I have 2 daughters and 2 sons and just to be sitting here typing this NOW, all PRAISES and HONOR goes to GOD for keeping me. Ive been cancer free for a couple years and I exercise and diet according to what my physicans instructed me to. My wife is also a RN. That helps as well. RIP Stuart, you were a game changer in my life and I pray that his family is well also.
Who are the 55 monsters that disliked this? This man was so full of life and taken too soon. He was brave and fought like hell. His energy was contagious and the world is a bit darker without him. Continue to rest in peace ✝️🙏❤
Please. Separate the guy that had cancer from the guy at the SportsCenter desk. I think he sucked at the latter. He made it all about him, like a warped and almost as annoying black Chris Berman. Awful. Now, as a person, I don't know. Never met him, didn't know him. And neither did you.
@@iguanasnipersfl COVID-19 is pretty amazing, charismatic and contagious, too. But I wouldn't want to see or hear a hip-hoppin' collection of cells filled with COVID-19 reading sports stories off the TelePrompter. Just sayin'.
I used to love hearing him quoting Biggie and PAC, bringin street culture into sports.. .early in the morning. No one was doing that in sports at that time
ESPN has no one who is even close to being the host Mr Scott was. can't believe he's been gone 4 years now. If you watch him accepting the Jimmy V award and don't cry you have no ❤.
Stuart Scott changed the face of sports news. The effect he had on sports media would also have a massive effect on how people began to view sports. Following Sports became a trendy, hip new thing. The style and energy he brought to Sportscenter, had such an astronomical effect on the youth that I would argue it brought in far more fans. Stuart Scott was the absolute greatest sports news caster in the history of sports media. I loved him. He practically raised me I watched him so much. RIP Stuart. You were the man homie. You brought the streets to sports.
Sitting here in 2020 and watching a man that I remember sitting at the edge of my couch watching when i was a kid. ESPN hasnt been the same without Stu. Never knew him, yet was a part of my life since 1993. RIP
From 96 to 2000, I had just gotten out of the navy and was going to school and playing a lot of hockey. We played 3 times a week and we'd always get together for beers at our buddy's house and watch NHL2night(RIP...please bring that back) and Sports Center. And Stuart Scott and Rich Eisen were just part of the background of our life.
I miss this man so much his will gave me the courage to reconnect with my father and I will forever be greatful for the amazing way in which he inspired everyone to be a better person and to never give up and not to take anything for granted... I guess God wanted him also to make heaven a better place... Peace out Mr Scott.... Booyah
Loved the quips he integrated into his banter on his segments. Never missed a chance to plug his beloved Tarhills with his unapologetic grin when they won or lost. They say the good die young and it was certainly the case with Stuart, RIP
I once tweeted Jeffrey Donovan from Burn Notice about working with Will Smith in Hitch and JD replied, "As cool as the other side of the pillow." I lost it. 😭 #RIPStuartScott #BooYeah
Most people in this country don’t care about the color of your skin, who you sleep with or who you worship or not. All we care about is who you are as a person. Mr. Scott was a wonderful person and you didn’t need to personally know him to understand that. He was loved because of who HE was not what he was. It’s not that complicated, do unto others… I miss Mr. Scott, Mr. Madden and so many other greats going back to Dandy Don, Frank and Howard.
Watching this again in December 2019. Fighting back tears for a man I never knew personally, but shared the same passion for our Carolina Tarheels. Stewart was the best! Rest In Paradise my brother. BOOYAA!!!
He must be rolling in his grave with what ESPN has become. Rest In Peace to the best to ever do it, from all sport fans we will never forget your greatness🙏🏻🕊
RIP Stuart. You were the voice of SportsCenter to me, I loved watching as a kid, because of you. We love you and miss you man. It''ll never be the same without you, brother. You were as cool as the other side of the pillow, and I wish kids these days were as blessed to have grown up with you as a voice. Rest in Peace, Stuart
I actually watched highlights of baseball when he was on. People don't know how much I hate baseball but he could even make that entertaining. Thank you & RIP, sir.
Back in the 90s they would play sportscenter over and over again from like midnight til 10 AM every day. So I heard him a lottttt waiting for the school bus in the morning. Stuart Scott was Sportscenter the way I remember it.
Stu delivered exactly the information the viewing fan needed, but he did it with a seamless style, like he was having a conversation with you on a street corner, it was personal...RIP!!!
Trying to see through tears, every night, I hear your voice in my mind. You brought a refreshing change to ESPN. With much love and respect, I'll see you on the other side Mr. Stuart. RIP
Great man hell of a fighter and a credit to the ultimate race the human race Thanks for all you brought to the world will miss you forever because no one can take your place. Rest in piece my friend
I remember waking up and watching baseball highlights and hearing his voice throughout the highlights. I loved hearing him. He will always have a place in my heart
The best, honest and true! ESPN has gone the wrong way ever since with their politics. We tune in to be entertained , not structured. He did that perhaps better than anyone . There are a few left that deliver. He was a mail carrier, and it was always on time. Man, we all loved this cat!
I kept my composure through most of it. When SVP started talking... and then his ESPY’s speech... HOO BOY that really got me. This whole thing is so touching.
my fav. anchor....RIP Mr. Scott. I was just watching old basketball videos and you came to mind so here i am watching you. I was thinking how SC isn't the same without you and your craftiness while anchoring.
I've never seen Stuart in action as I don't get ESPN where I live and wasn't familiarised with him growing up, but seeing this, and broadening my understanding of the impact he made in anchoring and sports presenting makes me tear up at his loss. He was truly one of a kind and a down right good man. RIP Stuart Scott, may you forever booyah in heaven.
I remember coaching a Connecticut high school team and we were ending practice and I was in the parking lot and playing the NFL films theme songs and Stuart pulled up next to me to work out on our field cause he was playing flag football and he was blasting the same exact song and looked over at me and said Great minds think alike! And laughed and went to practice. Great moment for me
Hey Stuart, we miss you. We started so many mornings off with your energy waking us up, and for some us, you gave us a little bit of what we needed to get through the day. You made our hobbies fun and gave us permission to be cool, like you. Thank you, Stuart.
