Stuck in a life that seems out of your control. Stuck in a job that you don't really like. You're not sure what you can do about it. I used to have a job for a while in the corporate world and I got out of it. What did I do that maybe you can do? Why am I wearing this green visor hat today? What is the significance of this green visor hat?

I'm Rob and why am I wearing this green visor hat today instead of my floppy straw hat? I'll tell you in a second. It's a significant reason.
Maybe you have a job that you hate. A job you don't like. You feel like your life's out of control. You just somehow got sucked into what you're doing. You're just going through the motions. The thing is that most of us we end up in a position in life based upon the life that essentially we're born into. It's true even here in the United States.
Goose Pond Hideout is about being self sufficient and independent in an everything is going wrong world. You creating a fun happy lifestyle of freedom. Goose Pond Hideout is the life you have always wanted to live. Your dream lifestyle.
My goal is to look at self-sufficient homestead living in a humorous way. Freedom through laughter. There is so much gloom and doom darkness in the world and I want to put a smile on your face.
I'm not a funny man. But I know the importance of laughter.

I grew up in the early 60s in a part of the country that had been a forest from the Puget Sound to the Cascade Mountains thirty years earlier. Almost everyone there had left a farm in some part of the country to work for the Industrial Military Complex which was the largest employer in the area. The majority of newcomers were from the Silent Generation. Most were either too young or too old for all of America's wars, yet, they were the perfect age to walk right into the post-WW2-driven largest expansion of the middle class in world history. Because of that, a lot of them equated war with prosperity and still do to this day.

Cost of living in the US has gotten insane. Not sure how most people are getting by, probably living off credit cards. I've been working seasonal jobs for a few years, in beautiful locations in national parks. My rent this summer for a nice private room has been $280 per month. Can save a bunch of money for half the year, then take the other half off. Have time to travel, work on a few creative projects, and just relax and enjoy life. Way less stress, and can take better care of my physical and mental health. This is at least an alternative way for people to have some freedom, and maybe live overseas somewhere for 6 months or more of the year. Will be documenting on my new channel. Enjoyed the vid, new sub to your channel. Greetings from the Grand Canyon! 👍

Awesome informational video. Good thoughts and ideas. Most people are scared to take that leap of faith. While in the military I wanted this training and job but once I completed the training I would have to take a pay grade demotion. I decided against it and turned down the training. I still wonder if I made a mistake??

Looking back, it's easy to second guess our choices. While I was in my corporate job I was going for an MBA in the evenings. You know, taking one course at a time while working a full-time job. When I went back to school full-time I left the MBA program and I was about two-thirds done. I still to this day kick myself for not finishing it and that was 40 years ago.

Very accurate. Heck look at Jethro Bodine (Beverly Hillbillies). He only graduated the 6th grade and he turned out to be a millionaire. LOL 😂 Life takes many different turns, young people just need to learn to roll with it and look for opportunities that present themselves.
