I think I have a sticky exhaust valve on my CIvic because it is fine cold compressing > 150 PSI, but at higher RPM and hot compression went all the way down to 30PSI. Only cylinder 3 was bad. Is it possible to treat it without disassembly? I think Seafoaming only helps the intake. I suspect exhaust side since I got a backfire way back in the muffler area before it lost power. Thank you
If you have it all the way apart like that what is the price of a new valve to install to therefore ensure it is perfect? Not trying to be a dick, just wondering why not just install a new valve? Maybe you cannot buy individually?
The cost of a new OEM valve is $73.33 from Subaru. I did buy one on my last build. Even though you have a new value you may need a new bucket lifter to get proper clearance, so I usually will grind a valve if the clearance is too small to avoid the extra expense of purchasing a new bucket lifter.
