I like the "how to, can do" attitude of this channel and the guitar playing at the end was nice. It's cool when channel creators populate their videos with music they make themselves. Cheers!
Clasical Gas! I was a radio DJ in the late 60's and early 70's and that was my show intro. Thanks to Mason Williams for permission back then. I spoke to him a couple times on the phone. Nice guy.
Thanks for sharing. I am refitting a 1985 sailboat and I will soon tackle the plumbing. I am still wondering if I need to change the old seacock. All the Best & fair winds!
Hi. Can you explain how the heat gun works. I have some frozen brass seacocks. I've been told that, in reality, it is not the handle that is frozen but rather the ball valve. So I'd like to try the heat gun if I knew what I was doing. Thanks
If your boat is in the water you want to be delicate otherwise you could get into big trouble if something breaks. I use the gun on low heat and focus it on the lowest part of the seacock where the ball valve is. The goal is to allow the plastic to expand slightly which should help to free the ball valve inside. I ended up strapping a long bar to the handle (on both ends-being careful not to break the handle) and slowly rocking the valve back and forth over and over until i could close it completely. I greased the valve on the next haul out. I hope that helps, good luck!
