I know a couple guys who are in the car loan side of a top 5 lender. They said you can see the student loans hit on every single graph that matters. Non payment and Repos have spiked since they announced they announced it, new loans fell off a cliff, late payments are through the roof, etc etc.
Software engineers aren’t always jumped up cs students. In Australia we have to do all the same base engineering classes as mech chem, electrical civil ect. Its brutal ngl.
Just because you do the same base classes doesn't really mean much, since the base classes are still just foundational courses (which often are meant to weed people out). Also CS is primarily in the engineering schools of most universities in the world, which requires meeting the base engineering course requirements outside of CS so Australia isn't unique in that way. But even then to be a software engineer in industry you don't even need a CS background and it's much easier for other kinds of engineers or people in other fields to pick it up than vice versa. Anyone can be a software engineer but to be a civil engineer or mechanical engineer you have to have studied that, and if you're at a company like Nvidia as an engineer (not software) you have to have studied it real well
I'd be happy to be called a Software Developer or even just "Programmer", but I put on my linkedin "Software Engineer" because that's what recruiters and hiring managers expect.
my granny hasnt paid her mortgage payments in like 10 years and her debt was bought by a vulture fund and sold on to a few more of them for less and less (cant really repo houses in my country) and it looks like i might be able to buy her pretty nice house for like 30% of what its worth, thats the plan anyway
Bro become a debt collector that works with people to halve thier student loans. Even like 5% a pop would net everyone a profit. Except for the bank fuck the bank.
@@Mirtual I mean as long as you don't think about it very long, sure. it's like saying "if you notice cinematography, it isn't actually good" sounds a bit dumb in my opinion
I’m straight up not paying my student loans. I don’t know who holds them and now 4 different companies are telling me they have my loan, so how am I supposed to know if I’m not getting scammed?
2:03 they sell the debt after it effects your credit, if you bought it when it was for sale you could also just not pay with no concequence other than they’ll call you about it
I'm actually trying to take classes in an online college to get a degree in software development because we're I'm going is way cheaper than normal colleges. I'm nervous about it but I feel like I can do it. Wish me luck o7
Crazy hearing Atrioc mention Repo The Genetic Opera but personally I love that movie. My mom and I still occasionally break out into the zydrate song and legal assassin sometimes.
Reminds me of cyberpunk. There’s an area where you find a serial killer that died because he forgot to pay off a heart valve replacement so the company shut it off. He died right in front of a door and if you went inside you’d find his victims that starved to death after he died
Another video appearance for me, W..... Also I'm an Electrical Engineer which means I get to make fun of software engineers part time and mechanical engineerd full time.
I have a Mechanical engineering degree. I ended up getting hired at a Robotics integrator, where my role is technically Automation engineer. I do Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Industrial engineering. A real mixed bag. But all of my coworkers just call me a software engineer and is how to feel about that
I studied EECS at Berkeley 12 years, so I got to shit on the CS majors who were just joining in the Bachelor of Arts program instead of the EECS Bachelor of Sciences program, while also shitting on the EE people in EECS because they weren't making fat stacks. I was pretty annoyed by all of the classes doubling every year while greedy people saw the big dollar signs from unicorns popping off and just wanted easy 6 figures, while I actually joined the major because I love engineering. But it is what is it. The boom of web developers making 6 figures is slowly dying off, but the stain of "programmers aren't real engineers" sticks around. Although I do think that software engineers get it easy because our SLAs don't have as strict requirements for quality as other engineers, even though what we write can also affect lives. It's too new to be regulated as hard (yet).
I have never paid my student loans never will pay them (I did like 1 year) If they want it they can come ascend them knuckles and take it fawk u mean That shit was like 10+ years ago they obviously don't need the money
Why doesn't everyone just get tens of thousands of dollars in grants and scholarships so they can entirely pay for their tuition without having to get student loans? I tried that and it's working out pretty good so far.
