This morning in Philadelphia, University of the Arts students issued demands to administrators following the sudden announcement that the school was closing - reportedly due to financial problems, which students say haven’t been properly explained or accounted for.

Huge shock. Not right. The speakers are so right. Communication MUST Re-Open. A college should never be closed without advance notice of 1 year, or more.

There are artists quietly working all around this country. I am one of them. I have focused on doing my work and forging my own path in life, not posing as a special identity or whining when reality didn’t go my way. You say “ we need the arts”… Go visit art galleries, buy art and support real artists!! We don’t need institutions that FEED OFF the arts!

Hopefully criminal -- the sudden unannounced closure, didn't give thte students a chance to transfer, or even receive their already-earned degrees, in the case of one speaker. No school needs to close immediately -- it MUST be a planned closure with a year of notice to the students. I hope this is legally prosecutable.

Everything you use was created by an artist- even the technology. If you are on RU-vid and benefitting from an artists work, you’re a hypocrite. Actually, there is a shortage of artists which is why Hollywood movies have been terrible lately

@@tomcoop9750 TCP/IP was not developed by an "artist." Neither was the OS your PC runs. Or the hardware. That is all science. Not art. And if Hollywood movies are terrible, it's because those are the scripts the people with money want made.
