Students scream their anxieties into the sky | The Flogsta Roar 

I was one of the originators of this tradition. I and a classmate were studying for a re-exam in the linear algebra course the winter 1987/1988. We screamed a primal scream out of frustration at midnight. The day after a classmate and some people in his student dormatory two stairs up did the same at 22:00. We joined them and soon everybody in the area was screaming. Live a mile from there today and they still scream, not as much as back in the days, but still cool the tradition lives on 33 years later...

I live it when I stay up until 4 am browsing youtube only to find videos like this. Obscure, underrated, and interesting.

I am moved.Thanks for this production. I had the pleasure to live in Flogsta where I met tons of people, few of them have remained as true friends since. Lots of stories. I would never forget my time in Sweden. I lived in 8:6. The red dyed hair old man in this film, Staphan, was my corridor mate. I consider him a true living icon of Flogsta. He was a nocturnal being. He used to cook every Monday night Ethiopian/Eritrean food that a corridor mate taught him. Mi friends and I never missed out one of his dinners. His room was full of beer bottles gathered and collected from all the different corners of the world. I remember mi last night in Flogsta, Staphan was there cooking. He invited me over for a beer and we chatted all night long. To me, it was something magical to share my last moment in Flogsta, with somebody as iconic as him. I am sure Flogsta is fool of special and unique people like him. That place was full of intense and short stories starred by people from all over the world. To some people live in Flogsta was a pain in the ass. Lots of parties and night noises were normal. Thefs and vandalism in the weekend parties were not rare either, of course it depended on the corridor and people in it. To me, it was an unforgettable experience. And I think, although the atmosphere of the film is a bit dark, it collected those warm moments in the room, and in the corridor with your friends and it made me wanna go back. Thanks for bringing me back to Flogsta.

Wow. When I heard the scream at the end of the film I got such chills, I almost started crying. Yes, it's cool that they scream, but you showed us exactly WHY they scream, how it feels, so by the end of the film I felt it too. So beautiful. What an awesome documentary.

I don't know why but I want to scream like that, I'd wait for 10PM everyday.

This was a really interesting film. Only just found out about the Flogsta Scream. I hope to visit Sweden one day

Why is there some sounds effects added in? Like the door of the elevator opening and the dishes breaking? Some of them are hard to notice too!..

Gosh, it's so boring... The scream is the only way to shake a bit this swamp of existential boredom 🤦🏽‍♀️

I just wanted to find a room tour of the Flogsta housing and instead I found out I will be hearing terrifying screams at 10pm XD
