Many times I came back to see this work of art painstaking detail to some of the most creative works of science fiction space ship designs! Hundreds of Years amiss my death generations to come will build real ships like this in reality based on these designs so your hard work will come to reality if the human race survives! Keep up the amazing work you do it will be very important to the future to come! 😃👍🏿
This is a real labour of love for such an iconic space craft, a truly gorgeous build and huge thanks for sharing this with us. You sir are a real craftsman and artist, looking forward to seeing her complete. Loved that you dedicated this video to the late Richard Hatch, a great man and passionate Battlestar fan and actor.
@@wintheking7884 No, it's the original Galactica from the original 70's and 80's series. Back then all Battlestars were the same and there were no 'classes'.
wow amazing work. I was such a huge galactic fan as a teen. I ordered a Viper pilot jacket from an advertisement in comic book, it didn't turn up for nearly a year & by the time it did I had grown too much to wear it. I was gutted.
I have to admit, I have never seen a model of that size and that detail ready for another shot at glory or a reboot as this one. Someone's ready for their close up I think. Bravo sir.
It's one of my favorite designs (both versions). Except, I never understood where the fuel would be for such a GINORMOUS drive section lol! I never read the Galactica technical manual but even the Enterprise has a huge deuterium tank for it's relatively tiny drive section.
Man, John Dykstra himself should be proud of this beautiful model! He did the original Galactica, and this labor of love shows that you remade this with as much painstaking detail as the original! Love it! Insure this baby, because this is a masterpiece!
Wow. What an amazing job you did. I remember seeing the original (movie first then show) and you work is stunning. Makes me want to watch the original show again.
Nothing better than the old school BSG I swear man when they do this reboot they better do it right and keep intact the old school thing because there's some things that are better and what's better is old school they better make this remake right
Wow, thanks for all the kind and funny comments, guys. Very flattering, but the joy for me is to be able to share the progress and memories of the old show. Not much progress to report due to family life priorities, but she's in primer, waiting on a few more detail greeblies and I'm looking at paint options (it will need a LOT of paint) before the window lighting can begin. Thanks again and I'm glad you've enjoyed the video. Mike
I was happy to build just the LEGO 72192 Falcon (and finished it💪). But your building of Battlestar Galactica is not from this earth. Absolutely mind blowing. What can I say? I’m FASSUNGSLOS !! Unbelievable detailed work. Fantastic🔥🚨🙀🔥🚨🙀🔥!!!
I spent My ENTIRE LIFE , ALL WAS ABOUT BATTLESTAR GALACTICA . when I was A young boy...before going to school I would draw scnerios of Galactica....letting my imagination fly into another world called Galactica....getting home from school I would put in the BETAMAX and play Battletar Galactica... I did this for years, drove my sisters crazy....
@@wintheking7884 Try again - If you're going to try and correct someone, try actually being correct yourself. This is a replica of the ORIGINAL (THE) Battlestar 'Galactica' from 1978 and is NOT anything to do with the 'reimagined' BSG from the 2000s.
I WISH I HAD SUCH A MODEL.....I WAS 7 WHEN MY PARENTS TOOK ME TO THE MOVIES IN 1978 TO WATCH BSG.....I WAS BITTEN AFTER THAT TILL NOW..... THEN I SEE THIS MODEL .....WOW
I saw one of the actual production models on display at SONY Pictures corporate offices about 20 years ago. It too was ASTONISHING! You’ve done a FANTASTIC job! 🙏
Came across this after looking at Space 1999 Eagle transporter kit videos....My jaw hit the floor! Amazing dedication and craftsmanship..... Looks studio grade to me and I'm sure Dykstra/Trumbull/Johnson would be proud of what you have achieved here. Can't wait to see it when it is a 100% completed!
Superbly done, now that is what you call a labour of love. I still think the Original Battlestar design looked better than the current version by a large margin.
That's an impressive build of one of the top 5 best starships ever designed for scifi. The Battlestar Galactica is the only one I have ever wanted to own a model of. I built a scale model of the Millennium Falcon years ago but only got as far as the superstructure and interior flooring. That alone took me over 100 hours and it was only 55cm long. Each piece had to be carefully measured, cut, shaped or formed into the desired shape for fitting. I wish I'd finished it but raw materials proved to be difficult to obtain as I wasn't using off the shelf kits. I can't begin to calculate the amount of time you've dedicated to this Grand Lady of the Colonial Fleet. I tip my hat to you. 👍 😉.
Thanks again everyone, it's my pleasure to share the journey with you all. I haven't had much time to work on the model lately but rest assured, it WILL BE FINISHED!😀
