Just want to thank you for these videos. Great to hear from a real working professional who has to deal with real world issues/performance of equipment. There are so many photography 'experts' on RU-vid who have very strong opinions on kit, yet from what I can tell, have never really been in the trenches solving problems and had to deliver to paying clients. Cheers 👍

when you said "I just don't care" and mentioned real world results are what matters, I immediately subscribed. Thanks for speaking so candidly.

would you rather nokton 1.5 or ultron 2.0? I know you have reviewed both just curious. Don't know which one came to you first but don't think you mentioned the nokton in the ultron review. thanks for all these vids!!

I am waiting on my first Leica and M6 classic and this will be my first lens, thank you. I have been mulling over this lens or the ZEISS, I think I will go with this Voigt.

I was sold on this lens. Knew about it through a forum post and looked into it. I was looking for a fast 35mm to replace and be an upgrade to my 35mm 1.4 nokton mc version 2 and man is this the one. I’d like the FLE II but for now this is a great alternative. The technical videos on this lens shows that it’s not too far off from the Leica FLE version. So I just now ordered one, excited to try it out and I got the brass black paint version to go on my black M10. If it’s sharp wide open on a M11 then that’s all I need to know for it’s image quality.

I love it. I just did another random shoot around the building with it (I’ll post that video soon) and just love it b

How the focus throw grip compares to Leica lenses? I returned the ultron 35mm ii because of too much grip.

I think Voigtlander Nokton Classic 35mm f1.4 is a best choice for Leica mount

@@kaskoPhoto it’s the 23mm Nokton 1.2 for X-mount - using it for fun personal stuff on an X-T3 with a modified Eterna film simulation. Actually my first manual only lens on a Fujifilm…

@@sammy_sam_leonardo I think the x-t3 is still my favorite body and the X-pro 3 a close second.

Man I just ordered this lens ( black paint version) really enjoy the design, weight, and aesthetic. I'm a film shooter btw. I swapped my 35/1.4 MC to this lens, excited to see the results !!

I don't have a Leica, but I did decide to run around this evening with my RF 35mm lens and just see what I could capture. It is a nice focal length. You got some great shots.

I want to try this lens because of the size only. I have been shooting with the Voigtlander 35mm f1.7 Ultron which is fantastic for me for a while. The Leica 35mm FLE V2 caught my eye but I just cannot justify that $5200 price point for a built in hood and better coatings from its v1. Voigtlander has been closing the gap and while my logistical brain continues to rule, I will stick to the f1.7 Ultron or maybe this lens as an upgrade. Thanks for your videos

My favorite 35 is still the voigtlander 35 APO - I am satisfied with the f/2 aputure and the quality of this lens is just one of the best I’ve ever used. I’m sure the Lux is fantastic but it is always the $$ that dictates our decision in the end

That lens is on my radar to check out, might swap for my Voigtlander 35mm f2 Ultron II. Nice pics!
@JJ_Photo

I believe the Ultron II is sharper. The main thing with the Ultron is that the focus ring is not very smooth. Sometimes it kind of locks, and gets hard to turn. First I thought it was my copy, but can see others has that problem as well... Hopefully they fixed that on the new Nokton. That would be a swap worth for me... But I will wait to see what others report.

@@JJ_Photo center sharpness is quite the same but 35/1.5 has better corner sharpness. Just tried em, but ultron rendering unique image feeling I’d say both are great

thanks for the effort and the sharing. i am an appreciative subscriber. as for the wrinkles on the sides of the backdrop, i have read that the non-textured side produces less wrinkles. do you remember which side (textured or non-textured) was pointed towards the lens? thumbs up.
@kaskoPhoto
@kaskoPhoto Год назад
I did use the textured side. I got the grey one in and steamed it. Much better but I will try the non textured side on Monday. Thank you.

I'm a bit disapointed about your review of this lens, because the majority of the photos you showed were made stopped down, and could have been made with any lens. If you buy such a lens, you will want to use it wide open, and not stopped down. Thank you anyway, you are the first to cover this interesting new lens. I ordered mine and hopefully it will cover my needs
@Flying4Film
@Flying4Film Год назад
I’m glad he did stop down. There’s already several images on the net showing the lens shot wide open. Why would you shoot product photos like the clothes in this shoot wide open? Some people buy lenses for the focal length and a wide aperture for the times they need the wide aperture, but they shoot at different apertures based on the look they want for the image. Shooting wide open all the time seems like a crutch these days.
@webersteve1547
@webersteve1547 Год назад
@@Flying4Film well, yes and no. I agree that such a portrait shoot in Front of a white wall can or even should be made close down, but any lens will give excelent results at this aperture. The differences in sharpnes , contrast and bokeh show wide open, and this is what such a lens is made for. Stopped down is like driving a sportscar in town
@sammy_sam_leonardo
@sammy_sam_leonardo Год назад
@@Flying4Film 100%… these amateur’s are irritating tbh with their bokeh obsession, but it’s good to educate them. I can’t imagine any pro would shoot product at anything wider than f4 (except for a quirky shot of something small like a watch hand etc). I shoot my own products and I live between f5.6 & f8…
