Random thought while going through Etsy, would you ever do clothing patches? I’d love to fill a denim jacket or bag with your cute illustrations ...or maybe some classic Katnipp catchphrases 🤗 ‘
Hi Kat, could you please do a video on how you file and store your product-files and graphics on your computer? and how you organize your products? please :-)
I got soooo excited when I saw you've uploaded a new video, aaaah!! And taking pictures of my prints (and basically everything for my store) in combination with my perfectionism is my biggest struggle ever. I just ordered new prints as well, all so exciting! Love seeing you work, always makes me feel so motivated even though your art is very different from mine- but that's what I LOVE about the art community on youtube. :-)
a well earned break...enjoy Spain !!! We may need marshmallow tees some time in the future...? I am now proud to be a human marshmallow, thank you Catherine 💗💃
Yes would love a mock up! Also the comments at the start of the vlog with you at the computer were so cute 😭😭😭 we love you too Katnipp!!! You da best!!!
Love the unicorn tote! So cute! Hope you have fun in Spain. I've been making unicorn home decor and it's fun to see different ways of representing them x 🦄🌸💖🌸🦄
I always wondered if it is actually right to sell fanarts and I love that you shortly addressed this in this video!!! Thank you for such an amazing video!!! ♡♡♡
Your whole vibe is everything! I love the soft pastels in your art so much - I want to do fan art as well but the legal issues and TOS on Etsy its not worth it. Your illustrations are adorable and can stand on their own. thank you for the skillshare hookup!
for t shirts we use a dtg machine great for short runs . I do personalised tees so screen printing no good , its direct to the tee so no transfer feeling x
@@KatnippStudios We have one from a company called YES ltd but brother have one too . I would source someone with one and try out with them first maybe as they are alot of money but brilliant for sml runs!! love your videos !!! x x
Thank you so much Cat for sharing this tricks its very useful for me as a newbie graphic designer I really find it very easy and useful ♡♡♡♡ I adore your merch and artwork btw. ♡ Greetings from south america ♡
I use that system with my prints - adding it in on photoshop after - for the same reason - i want to present the print as it is, without any colour/lighting distortion! Glad i'm not the only one :)
I just love all your adorable pins and artwork! If I may suggest, you may want to consider placing your brand label on the front right hand side. This will enable the user to show it off when people see the bag and ask about it. Just a thought... Have fun in Spain!
I have my shirts digitally printed. That way you are not limited on color and it's usually a bit less expensive. I have it done locally, so I would look around your area to see if anyone offers digital printing for shirts.
You could try using a Print on Demand service! Printful.com links up directly with Etsy so you just link your store, upload it through Printful and the edit in etsy
Hi Katherine or do you prefer Kat? anyway I love your videos they are so uplifting and happiness oozes from you which is so blumin refreshing. I wondered where you source your recycled cards from. I need some business cards and thank you cards but would like to be as eco-friendly as I possibly can without it costing a fortune. I have managed to source bio-degredable poly bags that I am reeeeeally happy about though, its a start yeyyy
Amazing and usual!! I've never been comfortable selling fan art either! I sold a couple charms on Etsy that were fan art but I just didn't want to risk it and like you said it's really not the most ethical thing :(
Hi Kat. I like your studio vlogs very much. I noticed you started to reduce your plastic waste. And as I saw you unpacking your enamel pins I started wondering if yoou could ask your manufacturer to not pack every single pin individually. Do you think this would be possible? Have some lovely days in Valencia!
Thank you once more for sharing your experiences, learning a lot through you! And loving everything that you're creating. Inspiring... Thank you:) By the way I am from Valencia (currently living in The Uk) and if you want some tips for see the city, please let me know;) I'm flying to Valencia as well with my son next week to visit my family and friends:D. Fingers crossed for good weather LOL
Hey so I'm just about to launch my Etsy store and I feel like allll I've been doing is taking and retaking product shots. That mockup photo is SUCH a good call for prints especially greeting cards etc but how is everyone doing with things like stickers and charms? I'm hazing so much trouble getting them too look bright enough and even when I take it into photoshop after I still cant get the colours to look how I want UGH. Does anyone have any tips?
Nice you have a kitchen where you work. 😊. Oh, try magnetic eyelashes, you put liner and the lashes. Oh you’re gonna go on a vacation before Disney? You are so fortunate 👍 this sounds like an old song, I like it 😊 why don’t you do a vlog on how to do a podcast 😃
Hi Cat, I just wanted to say that you are beautiful and that your personality makes you more beautiful. I always love to see your vlogs. Kisses from the Netherlands.
About the fanart thing, I searched for informations some time ago and what I find, in a nutshell, is this: - does X belong to you (character, product name/logo, world, story, etc)? If "no" then you haven't the right to use it without being authorized by the original creator by any mean and doesn't matter if you monetize your fanarts or not. Obviously this is a "50 shades of tolerance" because big major companies don't bother to charge fans (often young) because they create fanworks, even when they make some money from them (as long as they remain "some" and not "a lot"). At the end of the day is all a big advertising for them. Little companies instead can take more damage from this but without having the money to charge anyone on the other hand. But it is and remain "tolerance". You're still violating copyright and intellectual work laws. On a page I read that even if you don't monetize your art but you have some sort of "advertise" for yourself and your activities it's the same thing to make money from them. You gain follower by using the work of others (as you stated in this video about Sailor Moon for example. It's helping you in being more visibile and appealing). There's only one "100% good fanart" and it's that one you make for yourself without posting it on the internet. This is. I don't judge anyone about the topic, I love fanarts and even if in Italy it's not common to find artists or crafters in comic conventions with or without fanarts, sometimes I've bought something from time to time. It's just to say what I've learned when I've investigated about fanartists doing paid commissions based on manga/anime/books/series etc :) I take advantage of this post for a question about your printer! I'm considering to buy an EcoTank and I've just re-watched your review! what are the paper weights supported? On the Epson official site they states "up to 300gsm" but only using "genuine Epson media" (I suppose for not messing with the warranty). Do you use Epson papers? If not, what are the paper weights you have test with positive results? I would like to know if it supports 250/300 gsm from third-party paper manifacturers! The quality I think it's at least "good" since you use your Epson for a work based on prints :D Thank you so much!
I feel silly! I just watched your video that is literally titled “how I design and make enamel pins” 😂 thank you for your videos! You are the cutest, and inspire me so much! I wish I lived in the U.K. so we could be real life friends!!!
I think my niece would the unicorn bag for her birthday 😁 id buy a unicorn birthday card too if you sold one, is this others would love to buy or you could make?
