You kiddin' me, Chuck? Come on! This is obviously so that the user gets so familiar with the Numa configuration controls that buying a NumaX is a no-brainer. That is so... effective. I want a Numa X GT (yeah, don't get me started about your 88) but it'll be awhile before they're in stock and I can afford it. This looks like a great way to combine an inexpensive controller like your Donner DP80 with the controls and some sounds of a Numa X. It's kind of a preview opportunity for people who don't have their own RU-vid channel and don't get asked to review stuff. I like that. Liked and watched all the way through. (With my ADD, that's an accomplishment.)

Actually Studiologic makes this for those who purchase Studiologic controllers... but you are also correct about making it for those who will use it and become familiar enough with the sounds and controls of the new Numa X Piano series as well!

Thanks for the review of this. It has inspired a long weekend of creativity. You can get a lot of great sound mixes with the 4 voices combined. The muse is with me this weekend. Thanks!

Awesome. I did not know about this. Time to download it and try it with my Studiologic SL|88 Grand. So, everything stays in the family, so to speak ;) Thanks and have a great weekend.

Thank you, Chuck. I'm using it already and liked it. I got good results layering with Kontakt and others VSTs. I'll try on IOS. I didn't know that. Great job.

The pianos are great, EP’s are ok, & the strings and pads are useable with some tweaking. I wished they included some poly synth patches, but this is a great start for bread & butter sounds.

Thanks for this--I hadn't heard of this before, and I've already grabbed my copy. There are some really nice sounds in here, just right off the bat. One thing I haven't figured out how to do is to make the sounds velocity-insensitive (like, say, an organ). Also slightly disappointed with the wah--while it sounds great, it seems that the only driver available for its sweep is its own LFO (it would be good to have an envelope follower &/or be able to route the expression pedal to it. These are minor quibbles, though, when taking a "horses for courses" approach. I foresee using this a LOT.

i will try it with my old still going great after 23 years sl-880...... But i'm looking for a replacement love the keytouch on the sl-880 but no usb and no nobs and fader for controling a daw ect.. so i 'm looking for a replacement and also want something with its own internal sound (piano) the numa compact 2X is the only masterkeyboard that inc. internal sounds but how does it sound (same as this numa VST ?????) and how are the keys ??????

I find the Numa Player piano's a tad bright though I could eq that out and also the sounds are a bit limited dynamically but for free it's decent.

Hello, I have amateur question. To use this software or similar like Keyscape - do you have to connect piano directly to PC with USB or connect piano with Midi cables via audio interface to PC?
@00c754

hey , you have to connect the piano via midi or usb midi, the audio interface its for latency

Decent demo. You glossed over that center top init dropdown though. Seems like you’re also not sure what it’s really for. It’s function is not clear. It has entries like Western Piano and Koln Concert, none of which appear in any of the 4 Categories / Groups / Zones? If anyone figures it out pls share
@PianoManChuck
@PianoManChuck Год назад
That dropdown is what they call "programs" (other manufacturers might call those Scenes). Choosing any of the existing programs in that group brings in 4 pre-selected zones and all the settings that were saved when creating that program. You can make your own program by clicking on the "+" when in that dropdown. Then choose the 4 categories, make the changes you want, then click the download or upload icons to either save for future recall, or to bring in a previously saved program. I'm not sure how I missed that in the presentation but thanks for bringing it up!

@@PianoManChuck Aah! Okay yes I see what you're saying. Like a global preset then that includes multiple settings across 1-4 of the categories / groups / zones. I put the software to the test last night. Your review is pretty accurate. As a sidenote. It works until it doesn't. I used it both in standalone mode, and as a VST and in both cases when I play something that involves plenty of multiple voicing (Chopin) it starts losing notes after about 45 seconds to the point where multiple notes just don't work at all. It catches up again if you stop for a few seconds. Look like a memory / buffering issue. If they can figure that it out it might be useful
@kwzat
@kwzat Год назад
@DavcomBass Tried that. It makes a difference initially if you decrease the buffer, but it still runs out. I'm not sure if it's a memory leak. If you let it rip and play a lot of notes fast enough, it will start dropping notes every time. I think it's trying to do too much and runs out of resources. It's fine for playing simple / slow pieces with few notes. It's unusable for anything relatively complex. That makes is useless for me. Oh well...

how are you able to play it standalone with almost zero latency?

Can this be accessed through a daw such as logic pro so you could record using the sounds?
