Dear Emma, I've been following you for a while and I just wanted to congratulate you for the high quality of your videos. Your teaching skills have improved a lot as well as the quality of your videos and tools. Thank you very much.
I simply wanted to find someone who could provide me with the same fresh energy that I had in Australia... While living and studying in Australia, I fell in love with the English language. I was searching the internet for videos when I came across you... and you're from Australia. You're bringing back some happy memories and feelings from my time there. It has always been meant to lead me to you. You're the greatest. I can sense all of the positivity that flows from you here in Hungary as well. Thank you so much, Emma.
I found this video very important....not only as a session but also gives motivational direction to learn more expressive & condensed lines, leading towards rich English literature!! Finally I saved the video in my IMPORTANT play list folder, it deserves! My hat is off for mmmmEnglidh, Emma!

Which one of these idioms describes you best? 🥳 💩 🦆 🐺 🍪 🦉 I think I'm a mix between a lone wolf, a creature of habit and a backseat driver! 😂 📝 Don’t forget to share your homework in the comments below!
@@mmmEnglish_Emma An early bird Dark horse Know-it-all Lucky duck All of these ones are describing me as a person so precisely! Thanks Emma one more time! You rock!💙
Hi Emma, Thanks for the new lesson. Here are several people i have described for your comments. 1)Though John has a degree in accounting but he works as a sales in a furniture store. Very often he helps his next door fixing roof and even some plumbling problems. Much as jack-of-all-trades to me, you should try to get his opinion of your warping floors and he is a friendly guy to be with too. 2) My boss is a man of his word. If he promised you for a raise after the probation time, with your such exceptional performance, odds are high he will make it happen. 3) Peter is an early bird and always the first person comes to office and also brews us a large pot of hot coffee. If he does not show up by now he probably wont for today as he sometimes has to visit his clients once a month. 4) Ken was not sure if he wanted to be slaving away at the new job as his supervisor was such a back seat driver and never stopped checking on him and yet all had to be in his way. 5) The new comer, James is a lone wolf in our class. We have not heard a peep from him for already a week after the new school term began. 6) Sherlene is such a cheapskate and seldom she shares her snacks with friends. She usually will savor her own at a corner and only join the others when finished.

I love your video. It’s important to know idioms because all languages are peppered with them, especially English. It’s good to know the idioms that describe people. I’m a retired ESL teacher and idioms were part of my lessons.
Thanks EMMA🤩. In Italian we say animale notturno( night owl), opposed to mattiniero ( early bird). Un uomo di parola is a man of his word, un cocco dell'insegnante is teacher's pet😅, a busybody is a ficcanaso, a cheapskate is a tirchio, a worrywart is un uccello del malaugurio🤣

Hi Emma. Thank you for this lesson. I love it very much!!!! There'are equivalent expressions in Spanish language. Here few of them: A lone wolf=un lobo solitario A dark horse=una caja de sorpresas The early bird gets the worm=A quien madruga, Dios le ayuda Night owl= Ave nocturna Jack-of-all-trades, master on none=Aprendiz de todo, oficial de nada A man of his word=Un hombre de palabra The teacher's pet=El niño mimado A know-it-all=Un sabelotodo A party pooper=Un aguafiestas Straight shooter=Sin pelos en la lengua
Mmmm yeah, I'm going to hit the books with this amazing video, and I already knew some idioms, however, I adore learning from them. So I feel like I can't express how thankful I am.
Thank you thousand for this lesson with the idioms to refer to People. I’ve studied them several times to keep these in English in my brain. I can tell you that all my life I was an early bird. It was because of my job as a farmer. It was easy for me to get up early every morning and milk the cows
I regularly use your vids in my classes. Absolutely using this video in my class tomorrow afternoon. Trying to help my students avoid the “English Student” label and idioms are the most impressive way to do that. When a student uses an idiom correctly, it often lets them break into a social group. Thanks for uploading!

I watched this video almost every sound. It likes I was listening to my native language 'cause I understood all of what you're talking (though I'm not really good English learner). For me, this is the most interesting English video of yours and I'm really into it right now! I've done my 30 idioms noting down, thank you so much❤️... And do you want to learn some English idioms when it's Vietnamese? I can give some, like "dark horse", when you were explaining the meaning of its, another phrases popped into my head "still waters run deep" hahaaa, and the person who is a dark horse is called "giấu nghề" in Vietnamese (though "giấu nghề" is an adjective). "Giấu" is hidden and "nghề" is their job in which they're specialized. I love this idiom so much! Another idiom which can be translated to Vietnamese is "cheapskate", it's called "keo kiệt" or "bủn xỉn" in Vietnamese (I don't know to explain it, even when I'm Vietnamese, I just know that "keo kiệt" means "cheapskate" and "cheapskate" means "keo kiệt" hahaaa). For more, I can say it "phá game" with the meaning of "party pooper" (though "game" is an English word, all teenagers in Viet Nam say that🤣)... The others is pretty hard to say in Vietnamese, so I'm really thankful for you to teach me these idioms. Now I can shoot the breeze with my friends about them! Hopefully you'll read my comment and I love uuuuuuuu❤️❤️❤️
Hi, Emma Mam, Fortunately out of 30, 27 I have already learned ones. I have studied around 500 idioms. Good mam it was a rivision and recall of my memories. I really enjoying your class. Normally this was my music listening time.

Hi Emma, whats up?I look forward to your lessons every fortnight, and I have been waiting for your lesson since morning. This lesson is exceptionally useful. Thanks!!❤
Hello. Emma, thank you so much for this interesting lesson. I consider myself a person who gets up early in the morning The proverb says "whoever gets up early in the morning God helps him" is like that all over the world. so many idioms I hope to learn them and remember them when you are in conversation or have the right moment.
You're so welcome Ana maria! I love that you were able to connect some of your learning from my lesson to your life straight away. I'm sure you'll enjoy learning these idioms and connecting them to behaviours and people in your life! 💕
Will use them for my next lesson definitely. I can confirm that "Smart Alec" was used in the UK in the 1950's and would be considered quite old fashioned. Also "Goody Goody" does not exist in the UK, we have a "Goody two shoes" and it has exactly the same meaning. "Lucky duck" I am not at all familiar with this expression in the UK. It is also very interesting to get to learn Australian idioms from this end of the world. Thank you indeed.

Thank you. This is the idom we use frequently. In my dilect in Wiru Language in Southern Highland Province of Papua New Guinea in the Pacific Island. Idiom in dilect. Ne Noa yomo yondoko. In English; Eat and shot the tree. Meaning eat as much as (you or it) can but no change in (person or thing) growing.
Hi Emma, An unique and interesting lesson about idioms about people. I sincerely appreciate your efforts and learned many new idioms for improving English communication. It is truly useful to all learners. Best wishes 👏👏👏👏. Thanks and regards,
@@mmmEnglish_Emma Hi Emma. Thank you so much for this great lesson. Now, I have a big doubt: How can you use these idioms with plural subjects like they or we or with plural nouns? For example, inagine I'm going do a business and my secretary recommends I do not do it because they are bad people. Should I say: Don't worry they are: * a man of his word * a man of their word or words * men of their word * men of their words What if they are a group of men and women: they are men and women of their word/ words?. And the same question goes with the other idioms on plural. Could you please help me?
I really enjoy your lessons, Emma. After each lesson, I take a notebook and I write down all the notes. You help me a lot with your lessons to improve my English.🥰

Your English channel is my favourite! You are such a lovely and supportive teacher. I also appreciate how inclusive you are with your communication, including both genders instead of using only the masculine forms. Just something I easily notice, since my mother tongue is one of the few languages that does not have gendered pronouns :) I would really like to visit Australia
This is such a wonderful compliment _ma! I always try to make sure I am inclusive of all genders and differences. You definitely should visit Australia if you get the chance. It's a pretty amazing place 💖
Wow what a beautiful and outstanding comeback dear teacher i havebeen waiting to your lesson since many days you are an excellent and outstanding teacher love you too much

Idioms are great for describing others. I don't know but whenever I use them I feel like I'm saying some super cool words and that's why I use them more frequently in my conversations.

i come back to this video today, and learn five idioms. Although most of my friends are not night owls, they often go to bed late. they're also not early birds. I like to talk with people who are go-getter because they can motivate me to do anything i want. Most of them are goo eggs. i don't talk with bad eggs
Hey there Emma! I'm gonna write down all the idioms so that to learn them on my own!😊 Thanks a lot for another greatest informative lesson, I'm always fond of such kind of your videos! They're always extremely helpful!👌 Love you much!❤ See you in there!

Dear Emma, good morning!☀️After watching your lesson, I noticed that I am a creature of habit, because on Tuesday, I usually go to Cafe next to my office at lunchtime, and if I went there, I always have “pasta Genovese with avocado and prosciutto”😍 Yum! Also, I noticed that one of my senior colleagues is a busybody. He knows everything. As you mentioned in the video, it is really important to remember some words related to someone around me. I’ll think of another example on the way to the office! 🚃
Fantastic Rie! How great that you were about to recognise some of the idioms in you and a colleague. 👏👏👏 I have no doubt you will be describing people with idioms everywhere you go now! Also, that pasta Genovese sounds delicious! No wonder you always order the same!
