Now if we can just get doctors to stop telling women ‘no you can’t have HRT, it will give you cancer”, yet pass out testosterone and viagra to men like its candy, there might actually be some progress.
I have a pituitary tumor messing everything yet all blamed on barely off thyroid, sometimes it’s not, probably due to healthy diet. On pharmaceuticals 8 yrs suddenly stopped by a careless doctor went in to full menopause. I’m lucky to be alive , my quality of life really went downhill. Many doctors laugh and belittle their patients and if they do validate their patients pain and suffering is still ignored. People have to wait to long to see doctors that can be cruel in compassionate and only care about themselves. Many people leave the doctor hopeless and questioning themselves. Absolutely disgusting and disrespectful to human life!
I’m so sorry you are going through everything you wrote about. My daughter has endometriosis. She’s 26, she has 1 ovary left but has problems with the 1 she has left. She’s been the a lot but what struck me about your post other than the pain you’re going through and dealing with cruel doctors( we know that feeling too!) they told my daughter she also may have a tumor or something messing with her pituitary gland as well! Is that something linked to the ovaries as well? Just interesting.. you are in my prayers ❤
@@kristenkern4247 part of the endocrine system, so yes it's linked. Everything in the endocrine system is part of a feedback loop of hormones. I am so sorry that your daughter is going through this. Our medical system can be so cruel. We really need to get profit out of healthcare. And we need to do better for women.
So what about breast cancer that was fed by er2? I was tossed into menopause at 38 due to breast cancer. I think that means I can’t have HRT? Menopause or something is impacting my life in horrible ways. The brain fog, joint pain, insomnia, hot flashes and some things I won’t list in polite public spaces like this. I’ve been miserable for years. What’s the answer?
I recommend looking up Dr Corinne Menn, MD, a ob/gyn and breast cancer survivor herself. She is part of the Alloy Health company and specializes in educating and helping women in your situation, including HRT after breast cancer. There are several great RU-vid interviews and also podcasts with her. I also recommend the book “Estrogen Matters” by Avrum Bluming MD (oncologist) and Carol Tavris, PhD.
@@jewel58swithout lifestyle changes and education on treatments (medical, psychological, physical, dietary, etc) there will be no improvement. Our bodies are our responsibility- if one thing doesn’t relieve a symptom we have to keep searching. Each stage/phase of life our bodies change!
A woman’s hormones are a roller coaster during your entire life. This all began at 12 years of age for me. I’m now 57, and going through it. I use to learn things straight away and now I feel like I’m at a standstill. Brain fog and all of the other symptoms are real. Black Cohosh worked during perimenopause. I’m now on estrogen cream, which has kept me sane.
I'm literally about to lose a job I gave up everything to take because I can't focus, so I can't learn the things I need to learn. It's so disheartening.
I am only allowed to bring up 2 issues at any given appt... if I have more than that, I have to make more appts. So I stick to the major ones, reflux, allergies, Weight loss, libido, brain fog, yeast overgrowth.... any one worth their degree may see that these are all likely CONNECTED but the health care system in my neck of the woods only wants to treat the individual issues and not the cause. Which is why I will probably never go to another DR. (before you trot out "find a new DR" I am super rural, and calling DRs up to 2 hrs away seem to have the same mindset)
I’m 36 and was forced into surgical menopause at 34 because of a disease. The same menopause rules don’t apply to me, especially with physicians. When you’re under a certain age that just sets you up for more resistance and gaslighting in healthcare. It also sets you up for more health issues as a whole. Like heart disease. Menopause too early can literally kill you and I’m living proof of that.
That's amazing! Do you feel it would have been different had you gone through it at a young age? I went through surgical menopause at 22 and it was a real struggle for me.
@@jessthemess0o I think menopause at a young age could be psychologically painful. I am sorry you had to go through it so young. I hope hrt helped you. Perimenopause was very hard. I thought I would need antidepressants. Instead of hrt, I started working out and eating better and became a personal trainer. In a women's gym, I saw how hard women struggle to feel valid in a society where being young and sexually (reproductively)attractive is the primary focus for cis females, and is shoved down our throats to make $ from our insecurity. But once the veil of hormones lifted, I felt free, like a kid again with dreams and goals, no longer burdened by reproductive urges, and the crap that goes with it. I could focus on who I was, rather than being attractive to males. Yayayay.
Wow aren’t you a rockstar, but why not do all this when you were younger, geez I’m thinking about retiring, relaxing enjoying my life and freedom with my family!
Sometimes I'm sitting on my couch watching a movie and it comes on like a gust of wind except it's heat stroke! It's crazy! I feel like I'm in a bubble and in my bubble it's heat wave! It takes me anywhere! It’s nonsense 😫
A person CAN cook their own food, you know. Have a garden and grow your own, fresh, organic veggies 🙃 Everyone in American doesn't eat at McDonalds..LOL 🤣🤔 or buy a bunch of processed food. Quit stereotyping.
And yet not many are actively helping their wives find an answer. They stick their heads in the sand and blame their wives anyway for having their symptoms
@@Plantbliss Not many women are helping their husbands find an answer to their prostate issues (which can kill them) either...and that's OK...because it's NOT women's responsibility. It's the responsibility of the entire Medical/Scientific Community...just as it is for women's issues with menopause. Blaming Men or Women is obviously not the right answer.
I feel the typical "innocent/non informed" woman would not say, that there's something *"wrong with" them...*aside from the *fear* of being "highlighted" as such *by family members they come into contact with 24/7🤨* These "offenders" could be one's own mother/female relative, and worse, the male siblings who are easily triggered, and dismissive too. The positive feedback, and support system is non existent even in higher educated families. *For lack of *expert Medical research☹- that also depends on ethnicity and cultural norms, like how important is this to one's health? Perhaps, being self reliant, calm and thick skinned, on being labelled "moody/anxious" is the one 'choice' available currently? So, until more *education* on the subject is released - even to GPs - ignorance is not bliss for the patient🤣😊
Because it doesn’t happen to men, dr’s don’t care. My new pa told me there are no “hormone” specialist. Gyn’s don’t help with this. Great! So we don’t matter, a whole career missing.
Yes, but there is nothing natural about they way we live now. Modern life - stress, diet, toxins - have all made menopause hell. It wasn't as difficult in the past as it is now.
Many conditions are “natural” with aging, but we don’t ignore them and let people suffer and decline prematurely. Why ignore menopause and let women suffer and increase their risk of diseases? I recommend looking into the connection between menopause and cardiovascular disease (the number one killer of women), osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s disease (two thirds of patients are women), etc. This may not have been an issue for most of human history, but we now live one third to one half of our lives without these important hormones, which has many negative health consequences. There’s a lot to learn. Knowledge is power.
@@LindaBoston-t6gugh!! And they pass out RX for statins like it’s a rite of passage for all!! I get so frustrated and angry with the cookie cutter mentality of the medical profession. You have to do your own research and be your own advocate.
@@raptorman48sometimes I wonder about human logic- men have hormonal changes and it’s just as crazy for them (and the women partnered with them as well!)
Well that was helpful and kind... 🤨Women can talk all day about equality and value, but in the end, some will only see what society tells them to see as valuable and worthy of praise. I’ll bet her degrees and work experience far exceeds what many will accomplish in life.
