I suggest a fan turned on for this one. You don't often notice Adam's hair because he usually wears a bandana to keep it out of his face. Chance seems to be growing his hair longer too.
Adam alternates because he grows it out, then has it cut off at a certain length and donates it to an organization that makes wigs for children with cancer.
Another wonderful reaction! Adam has grown his hair out multiple times so that he can donate it for making wigs for those who have lost their hair due to cancer or other diseases. I love how Home Free just keeps upping the stakes with each song! I like some songs better than others, but I couldn't say there's ever been one that I truly haven't liked! Keep up the awesome work! ❤❤❤
Loved the song and video. Such a good reaction!! Yeah what is it with Chance and Adam?! Hahaha trying to light the boys on fire. Adam’s hair has been long for awhile. In Might as Well Be Me Adam had on a bandana but his hair was long and in Delta Dawn it was long under the cowboy hat. Last time he did that he grew it for kids with cancer and had it cut off for kids’ wigs. Great reaction DJ!🥰
The woman who helped Austin write at least two of his current love songs commented on his "vocal agility" - I think we heard it here. As for the song itself, Austin, Jeffrey East, Ernie Halter, and Andrew Tufano are 4 heavyweight singer/songwriters that really put a fantastic song together - as a song writing group it resembles Home Free or Sweet & low - a ton of talent in one focused spot . Jeffrey and Ernie have deep/long solo catalogs, too, well worth digging into.
Austin has a charming TikTok from December 2020 showing himself, Jeffrey and Andrew singing the chorus to the song with enormous enjoyment. Jeffrey has an enormous beard, Andrew has a fine voice himself. It's not clear if this was before or after Ernie had done his stuff (whatever that was). I don't think Austin knew Ernie then so probably before. I thought the same as you - few songs have such a pedigree and it would have been surprising if they had produced a dud. In fact it's damn near a masterpiece, not least because it defies any attempt at labelling it as any genre in particular, and one of the best HF have created. I've loved it since the album was first released and play it often.
@@patriciamcl54 In the livestream where they talked about the album, Austin said that they knew it wasn't "done", so when Ernie was staying at his house one time he asked Ernie to help finish it. He and Ernie wrote the bridge and probably did a bit of 'housekeeping' on it.
We always knew how masterful Home Free is delivering sweet and tender love songs. Know we know they do hot, steamy and seductive love songs VERY well. These guys could spark a week old cold, dead campfire. Wow! I almost forgot how damned old I am!! My favorite song of the album and it's a travesty that this isn't getting major air time on the radio! Great reaction, as usual.
Loving this HF original, reminds me of Jazz combined with Big Band and RnB. The fire dancers were awesome. Can't wait to see HF's behind the scenes video of this. Their Vault Series are killers.
Fantastic song...and a beautiful video. Thanks for a great reaction. Don't know what these guys have to do to be nominated...do they have to be played on radio, etc.? Don't know the mechanics, but would love to see them celebrated for their talents.
That is such a great original song! Rob & Austin do a nice job taking lead on this. Love the guys harmonies, Tim's bass & Adam's awesome vocal percussion. Also really like the video with the fire & the dancers.
Yea, I love Austin's growls in this and his runs... WOOOOOOOW !!! love this one. Great Fire Dancers, but I think the female really looks like Chances fiancé. Great reaction, thanks.
Yup. Another winner from Austin and his songwriting pals Jeffrey East, Ernie Halter and Andrew Tufano. What I would give to be in the room while they are writing. That whole process is like magic to me. And a great video. And am I hallucinating, or at the point where the heart first gets lit, is Adam Rupp in the background like he's breathing the fire out?
@@miamidolphinsfan Yeah. I love Jeffrey. Have you heard his podcast, One-sided Conversations? He talks about whatever is on his mind and sings something. Great fun. I highly recommend it.
Up above somewhere I mentioned Austin's TikTok posted December 2020, with Austin, Jeffrey and Andrew singing the chorus to the song. The songwriting process, when two or more are involved, is a mystery to me too, but I think part of it is just belting it out to see if it flies!
Kudos to the fire 🔥 dancers! 🔥🔥🔥 I wish we could hear more of all the things Austin's voice can do. And, let's face it; those boys do not need to playing with fire! Where's their adult supervision eg their SO's? 😂
If you listen just to the song, without the distraction of the silly video, you can appreciate how much of Austin's voice it covers, from the silky seduction of the bottom register to the screaming heights, followed by run after run.
Don't forget the other writers, Jeffrey East, Andrew Tufano and the great Ernie Halter. Jeffrey has also collaborated with Tim and also with Austin, Andrew worked with Austin on Save the World. You can also see him playing piano and guitar in some covers on Austin's channel. You're right about Austin - one of the best voices in the world right now. Personally I think he could have had a more satisfying career on Broadway or following a Buble/Gruber type career of concerts and albums. Still, it was his decision.
Such a smooth and chill vibe, but also intensely hot (literally and figuratively) video! The guys always bring the fire, but they went far beyond with this one! Great reaction!!
I love this song & video - the singing, beatboxing and harmonies are terrific and the fire dancers are just amazing. I love Adam's long hair; however, given the length of Austin's and the fire, it was best his be in a ponytail. At the end Tim looks hypnotized by the fire and Adam & Chance are literally playing with fire! Thanks for playing this & your comments.
When I first watched this, the combination of the dim lighting and Adam's longer smooth hair made me have to check several times to convince myself it was not Geoff Castelluci. I mean, I am all in for a collaboration of Home Free with Geoff, or any other part of Voiceplay, but it seems he would merit a top line collab credit, as with Avi in Ring of Fire..
Love seeing your reactions, they are so fun!❤️😂 You are definitely right about the saucy lyrics! Something about the dark with only the fire firelight!🔥🔥 Never thought Austin could look any sexier, but this one certainly did it!🥵🫠 He is such a master with his song writing and has been on a roll lately for sure!❤ Rob’s opening was beautiful and the fire dancers added so much to the meaning of the song!🔥🔥🔥
How much do I love this song and have done since listening to So Long Dixie when it was first released. It's a shame that such a fine song should be landed with such a hamfisted video. There's a lot happening in the song - changes in leads, build in intensity to a screaming climax, continuing Austinisms in the upper ranges - and none of this is reflected in the dead-eyed woman wafting about. We change leads with a dramatic change of tone - she wafts. The witty lyrics (thank you Jeffrey) with one fire metaphor after another have no reflection in the emotionless wafting. The scream of "everything!" - we hear it but don't see it, just more wafting. And what that heart that the woman produced had to do with the song, I don't know. It's not a love song but something quite different!
Yes you can say that this song is fire! One of my favorites from the album or maybe even my favorite. How Rob starts so beautifully very quietly and then just like with fire the flames go higher and higher, so the song went through Austin here as well. The incredible harmony was of course also present here, just like the super bassline and awesome beatboxing. Wonderful was also the video with that couple playing spectacularly with the fire. Home Free actually looks very simple, but it is still beautiful. The dark with the light of the fire. Top! Here Home Free shows again that they really can sing anything.
Adam had long hair in the early years, then he cut it. I think he decided to grow it out after Tim cut his. Gotta have more than one of the crew with long hair, right? 😉
Always enjoy the unique things you choose to note in these videos. Have you reacted to the music video by Troye Sivan entitled “RUSH” yet? I couldn’t find your reaction on RU-vid although this song seems to be so big this summer.
I really like the song, Austin and Home Free are pure gold. But I would rather have seen more of the guys and less of the fire dancers. Distracting IMO. Love the comedy bit at the end, and I always enjoy your reactions.
