This song first convinced me these guys are allies. Three white guys from the Deep South, singing country and patriotic songs, might have proved some unappealing stereotypes. But they seem to be exceptions. And I’m thankful. Thanks for the reaction.
Tim said the day the hateful group in Topeka KS picketed them he was like "YEP, We've Made It!!!!" it made them all so happy that they'd done a great thing and p!ssed off the haters. He turned their hate around and that confused them.
Home Free recorded this one in late June of 2020 and published it in July of 2020. This was Home Free's way of responding to the civil unrest here in the states after the murder of Floyd George, by the Minneapolis police and the subsequent unrest it caused all over our country and the World. Home Free always with the best messaging - Love these dudes...they are awesome.
Home Free is unapologetic when it comes to standing up for their beliefs and messages that need to be brought to the forefront of people's minds! They faced quite a bit of backlash from some of the small minded people who watched this! They stood their ground and are better for it. They allowed the trash to take themselves out! This is one of their most powerful songs and I absolutely love seeing new reactions to it! Congrats on 8k members! You'll be at 10k before you know it! ❤
I love how Home Free is willing to use their platform and celebrity to speak out on real issues. Yet one more reason to respect this amazing group! ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
Worth remembering what was happening in the US when this was released. Home Free stood up for their principles and lost some followers as a consequence. Just makes me proud to be a Home Fry.
One of the things that makes this song so powerful is that it was written by a man who had been a part of a white supremacist group and left. He lived the "felt your pain" and he found his way out. He wrote it as an anthem of change.
What a great message. I am tinted (indonesian blood) and know how it is to be judged and discriminated against on my skin color. I'm not like that at all. But to be honest many of my "kind" are doing exactly the same to the "whites". It doesn't matter if you are white, brown, black, yellow, gay, lesbian, fat, thin, etc. Appreciate and respect each other. Nobody is perfect. It's not an original but with the way Home Free thinks and their personalities it could very well be theirs. Because what good guys they are. And then they sing it so unbelievably. The two incredible low voices of Tim and Chance. The great background vocals and adlibs from Austin and Rob, the amazing harmony and Adam with the no-human sounds he makes in combination with the bass just sound fantastic.
Congratulations on 8K - you've earned it! I love their rendition of this song - it's such a powerful, necessary message. Another one you really need to see is a collaboration with Peter Hollens of "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" .I love your channel & look forward to your comments & reactions. It's only a matter of time before that number will be 10K!
I hadn't heard this song before Home Free covered it but omg the sentiment is perfect! Thank you for covering another amazing positive song. Congratulations on hitting 8000 subscribers, it's an amazing achievement and one you should be SO proud of. (Thank you also for the bonus reaction to celebrate over on your Patreon...I know we have all been giggling over it!) You are so generous with your time and I know we all really appreciate it. The fact that you are still posting daily AND giving us these wonderful bonuses is MIND BLOWING to me. Stay amazing Sir...onwards and upwards...10k by Christmas? 😉 #DJAntlers #HerdLove
They did a snippit of Rebecca Black's "Friday" in their guilty pleasures song that they did live. That's a great one. Congrats on the 8K subscribers! Your positive energy is one thing that keeps me coming back. Even when I don't like the songs you cover, I'll still watch them just because you are so genuine in your reactions.
I don’t even know what to say about this song. It is such a powerful message that this country needs to listen to so badly… love Home Free more with every song ❤
You'd love a live performance of this! There are some videos of it. And, You'd also love Tim's speech at a concert about the Westboro Baptist church, including the video of "Ring of fire kiss". 🤭😉🥰🥰
Might be considered and intense Roll Call with no shirking allowed. Hard not to be discerning when this is taking place where do we identify ourselves in this urgent call and what are we going to do about it.......... The beat just drives you to internally respond whether you choose to act or not you have internally identified yourself because the song demands it. They bring an emotional aspect that is fresh and thought provoking each time. They are very intentional and deliver with excellence. They simply don't put out junk, they bring it with a very high end and are very deliberate with their message of their productions. The challenge has been set forth, it is up to you to discern your response in you life how you will act out the response going forward. ❣ Now go take on the day!!!! 💟
My husband and I had to check when the original song was produced because it sounds like something from many years ago. We were shocked it was only from 2018.
The shelf behind you reminds me of Home Free singing "American Pie" with Don McLean. For this song, they had their Patreon members submit videos of themselves singing this song and had a fantastic editing job done to create the final product.
Love your reactions, but this may be my favorite. You pointed out positives for each of the guys, recognized and repeated the message of the song and gave Tim’s quote about people (that is important engough to him that he repeats it almost every show) airtime and positive feedback as well. These guys constantly blow my mind 🤯 so much talent wrapped in really awesome down to earth guys 💛🎶💛
Congratulations on 8K. Home Free is addresses issues that other groups won't. They remind of the groups in the 1960's that had a message in their music. One more reason to love them!
You´re reactions just makes me feel so good with your positive attitude. I have been listening to Home Free for years and I just keep coming back to this one. The music AND the lyrics - just amazing!
Congratulations to 8k! I'm so happy to be here for most of the time and to see your channel grow so fast :D This song came out during the height of the George Floyd protests, as did Meet in the Middle. They are taking their stance against things like this.
Hey, all the credit goes to you for growing to 8K plus! Your reactions are awesome!! Thanks so much. We Home Free fans will just keep following you all over in this journey!! Glad you got to this one. Been waiting for you to do it!! They did this one during the summer of '20 with the COVID lockdowns and all the protests over BLM. And then they came out with this!!! Some people weren't happy about it. I admired them for it!! Take care.
I LOVE this song. I saw them perform it live last year just before the album released. FENOMINAL !! And yes it really is a call to arms in a sense that we all need to come together and straighten up and hold each other accountable for our own misdeeds and have a little compassion toward others in trouble. We are ALL human and God's children. We have more in common with each other no matter where we come from or how we were raised or the color of our skin and we need to show each other a little bit of GRACE. Thanks again for this one. Love your reactions. God bless you.
Congrats on reaching 8K subscribers. This song describes why their fans are so loyal because fundamentally they think the same thing even during covid.
Rob really brought the Gospel to this one! They all did such a fantastic job. My hair stands up every time I listen and I've listened a LOT of times! Thank you for such a great reaction.
I'm new to your channel but it seems that you might be ready for the song Mayday. You have to know the boys sounds individually to appreciate what they do with that song. I like your channel and great job.
Thank you! Glad I'm not the only one that was wtf at the beginning of the video. I love this song dearly (especially it's message) and will listen to it on repeat sometimes, but I always have to gear myself up for the video. It definitely puts the point across but always makes my head twist to have their voices superimposed on other people's. lol Great reaction! You deserve all the subscribers you get. I enjoy your video reactions.
Congratulations on 8k DJ!! You deserve it so much and I can't wait to see you continue to grow on this platform. Thank you for the great reaction as always friend❤
Congrats on hitting 8,000 subscribers! You've earned every single one of them - you're one of the best and most fun reactors out there. 😊 Home Free kind of have covered Rebecca Black's 'Friday' - I'm pretty sure I saw you react to their 'Guilty Pleasures - Derailed!' video in the past. If not, and I'm getting mixed up, I can HIGHLY recommend that one! And yeah, Home Free are ABSOLUTELY about inclusivity. In one of their 'Story Time With Tim' videos, Tim talks about how they recently hit a 'milestone' of one of their concerts being picketed by the West Boro Baptist Church (nasty, bigoted 'church' who thrive on hate and hostility, particularly towards the LGBTQ+ community.) Tim jokes that, even though he's straight, he would happily kiss Chris Rupp on the mouth if it would annoy the West Boro Baptist Church. And then later on - I think, in the final concert before Chris left the group - he actually did that on stage, to riotous applause.
Glad you did this one. Can you believe HF lost approx. 500k subscribers on YT over this song? That's crazy ! HF doesn't shy away from doing the right thing for the right reasons and in the right way. This is one of my Top 5 songs that i listen to at least weekly. CONGRATULATIONS on your 8k growing is good !
That many??? That just boggles my mind. I knew some left, but that seems like an awful lot over one song. Looking through it with Christian eyes, this song should not be controversial, as it speaks Truth. Maybe because the song hit too close to home?
