If you want to paint larger items, you can buy Molotow chrome refills which work great in an airbrush and you don't need to layer it on very thickly to get a good effect. To get the best, most shiny shiny effect, you need to have a gloss black base coat. I've heard good things about Alumaluster chrome paint as well, but that's hyper expensive (about $80 for an 4oz bottle).

the guys that customise hotwheels cars often use those metallic paint markers and have been for years, you can take the paint out of the markers and airbrush it

Would some kind of clear top coat make the finnish even more durrable?

Actually I am pretty sure that any top coat actually destroys the finish and makes it go kinda grey. I haven't tried yet though.

I've used that type of marker in gold to touch up scuffs and cracks on my larger gold foam props and its worked great! I find that they're usually oil based so sometimes can transfer if pushed up against something, like a box if put in storage. Great video though!

Good point, I'm not sure what the base of these pens is, but it does say to let them dry for 24 hours, so likely oil?...not sure.

Looks good, but you should try the chrome figernail powders. That's the most chromeblike I've seen.

It's a bit of a process, but it looks super close to real chrome. It's mostly a shiny black primer, not quite dry, fine silver mica powder sprinkled on, bufed out after dried, then clear coated

You should also look at the Molotow Liquid Chrome Marker Set - 1mm, 2mm and 4mm. I have used these markers and they are fantastic for getting the chrome look, but I do like the idea of the other colors that the Flysea markers have available.

The best way to go is gloss b,a k paint then 2kgloss then graphite powder it is honetly waay better than thise

Ooooo way cheaper than the Molotow ones. I'll have to try them. Have you tried Rapid Fill and Fine Finish from Prop Monkey Studios? I bet if you used those first and then these markers on the EVA, you'd get an amazing chrome look!
