TruckerMan1, good luck with that fantasy brother. Just be grateful you found this bridge back to how real Outlaw Country is meant to be played. Tune out all the other BS and throw your support into Sturgill, Jamey Johnson, Cody Jinks, Whitey Morgan, Creed Fisher and their kind. Let the majority choke on whatever it is that’s been “promoted” as today’s music. Wear your love for this brand as a badge of honor 💪🏻
I always used to say I 'didn't like' country music, then I discovered Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Roy Orbison, and now, Sturgill carrying the torch on today. Good shit.
No Kidding man! So true.. and so many people comment that they are looking for music like this, but we keep getting force fed pop bullshit country on the radio.. Why is that..? Why can't they leave that stuff on the pop stations and let us have / keep real country...
Hard to believe Laur Joamets was playing heavy metal music in Estonia. He has such a great handle of pure rockabilly guitar playing and really brings a lot of uniqueness into his solo lines. This was hands down Sturgill's best lineup.
Nashville totally refuses to acknowledge guys like Sturgill and bands like Blackberry Smoke. But they're gonna have to if fans like us keep pushing them!!!
Dunno where you all been but Nashville turned its back on Johnny Cash about the time his TV show was cancelled in the 70s. You speak out against the criminal justice system and the bull $hit wars you’ll get black balled. Google American Records Johnny Cash add that appeared in Rolling Stone magazine. It wasn’t Nashville that brought Johnnys music back. It was American Records. Ain’t no mystery why they don’t push John Simpson. Look for Sunny Valley Folded Flag here on you tube and give that a listen. Phuq Nashville
This guy reminds me of a young Waylon Jennings. Where did he come from? The band is great too.The guitar player is spot on country. They don't need a steel player with a guitar picker like this.
What.....when you give up hope for country music and are done with the garbage factory of lifeless "Hits", along comes Sturgill Simpson. Real, pure and what makes this Americas own. Thank You Thank You!
Finally, someone has stepped up to the plate and is singing and playing a country song that's not Bro Country.Yes! There is hope for true country music.
Also try cody jinks and whitey Morgan I'm big jamey and sturgill fan I'm always on look out for real country that still exists so trust me you will like them both
Naw man there's plenty of hope but Nashville says there too country for the radio like Eric Strickland,Mickey Lamantia,Tim Culpepper,Blaine Roy,Creed Fisher hell I could go on and on but maybe one day real soon we're have our country back
This is so refreshing to me! Sturgill’s voice has this really old soul to it, and the guitarist is playing a bender guitar like the old Tele players! Wish we had more artists like this!!
I won't be around this old town anymore for a long long time Gonna hit the road and start looking for the end of that long white line I woke up my baby was gone without her I don't need no home Gonna hit the road and start looking for the end of that long white line Gonna hit the road and start looking for the end of that long white line Went to the bank to get my dough I don't care where I go Gonna' push this rig 'til I push that girl out of my mind If somebody wants to know what's become of this so and so Tell em' I'm somewhere looking for the end of that long white line Tell em' I'm somewhere looking for the end of that long white line New York City, Old St. Joe, Albuquerque New Mexico This old rig is humming and rolling, she's doing fine If somebody wants to know what's become of this so and so Tell em' I'm somewhere looking for the end of that long white line Tell em' I'm somewhere looking for the end of that long white line New York City, Old St. Joe, Albuquerque New Mexico This old rig is humming and rolling, she's doing fine If somebody wants to know what's become of this so and so Tell em' I'm somewhere looking for the end of that long white line Tell em' I'm somewhere looking for the end of that long white line I won't be around this old town anymore for a long long time Gonna hit the road and start looking for the end of that long white line Gonna hit the road and start looking for the end of that long white line Written by Sturgill Simpson
Sturgill Simpson you are the best thing to happen to country music in the last 15 years!! Love it! Man that tone is powerfull!! Keep it up, heading out to buy both albums now!! Can't wait!!Yeeehawwwww!!!
Saw him last night in Sacramento at Harlow's, absolutely the last time he'll be playing that sized venue. Sold out show, and straight up the best club show I've seen in years. The band is unbelievably tight, the lead guitarist is stupid good, the crowd (a great mixture of pure country fans, hipsters, etc) was WAY into it. Sturgill is the real deal.
I was born in Littlefield, TX. Being a Waylon fan is in my DNA. This dude right here gives me goosebumps. Thank you sir, thank you so very much. I miss Waylon and was too young to remember when he hit the scene. But something tells me it was a lot like this...
I keep picturing that guitarist as a kid in eastern europe. I can just picture him as a kid listening to marty robbins, jimmy dean, waylon and merle and knowing that some day he would move to Tennessee and just straight tear shit up.
John tito The trueth is he listened to Jimi Hendrix, Dave Gilmour, Jimmy Page, Duke Robbilard, Jimmy and Steve Ray Vaughn, Danny Gatton, Keith Richards...
Just heard this for the first time by another band. It was great, but this one is magnificent. Glad to become aware of this guy. Damn, that one guy sure knows his way around a tele! Some pretty tasty licks and tone.
If his guitarist is the 1970’s I don’t know what is. He’s so hot. Well they all are. Sturgil’s voice is Heaven and that guitar could make the best weep. Back beat base and drums are perfect. AMAZING.
Please Mr. Sturgilll Simpson keep playing this style of country music. Thank you you for your service too in the military. You are awesome brother. Please do not ever change Sir.
I just started listening to Outlaw Country on seriusxm channel 60 and heard this song and Sturgill for the 1st time.... I immediately went online and looked him up... Where the hell has he been, haven't heard him on the other channels at all, never heard his name before, or his sound. I look forward to hearing more of him in the Country Music Industry, he has a great sound, Old Country style, that this Industry needs...
Don't know how I missed this one. Been an outlaw country fan for a long time...just found the best thing going for country in a long long time! Thank you Sturgill !
So good I can't even stand it. My wife really likes Sturgill, too, but she thinks I've lost with how much I've been listening to Metamodern Sounds In Country Music. And just when I think the album is near-perfect, I come across another live recording like this one. So happy to see Sturgill blowing up. There's hope for country music!
Yup. I just about gave up on country music. I like all kinds of music, like most of you I suppose but I have not listened to country music for a number of years now. Haven't bought a country record since...well, I don't recall. Off to buy both of Sturgill's albums right now. Thankyou, Sturgill Simpson.
I definitely prefer this in 432 hz. But this is literally one of my favorite things in the world. And I'm not even a coke🥥🇨🇨🌴👃🏽🤧head or anything. Just absolutely love this song. Did anyone else notice similarities between this song and " when the saints going marching in"? Melody wise. I like this a trillion times better tho
The sound production on this video is one of the best, in my opinion. You can hear the vocals clearly over the instruments, which is how music should be. Some have the instrumentals overpowering the vocals and you cant hear what they are saying...which detracts from the song. Good job!
Thumbs down absolutely knows nothing about any music I've been a picker all my life sturgills got the voice and the music GREATLY DONE....KEEP IT UP....
