Deary me. There was plenty of opportunity to avoid that mess as well. Why didn't they just crash from the ads to a static ident and fill time, allowing them to join the programme on time? I guess the slightly nervous tone from the announcer probably reflected the attempts by the gallery to join the programme at a reasonably non-crashy point.
