Yeah I love anything that Conrad does. He has this ability to take anything and turn it to gold. I have trained myself to be prepared for a Saturday release of this podcast due to the current circumstances. I appreciate that they are able to drop this ironically before part 1 of wrestlemania 36.

HBK vs Angle was the best match of the show BY FAR!

HBK vs Angle would have been the best match on just about any card to be fair. I remember not being overly impressed with this PPV aside from that match at first, but I think it's aged better with time. So much history associated with this event-the first MITB, the coronation of Cena and Batista, not to mention Eddie's final WM. Not to mention the first storyline focusing on The Streak.

Dale Harris the main events were underwhelming and awful. The sumo match was just stupid and didn’t belong in wwe nor on WrestleMania. And the christy hemme and Trish Stratus match was what is was, but the rest of the card was great. If the main events were different and lived up to what WrestleMania main events should be then this could’ve ended being the best WrestleMania of all time. But after the Kurt angle and Shawn Michaels match the show went downhill starting with the meaningless and wasteful sumo match which didn’t do Big Show any favors whatsoever.

@@wrestlingfan-yq1wh If I'm not mistaken Trish was gonna blow off her feud with Lita at WM until Lita blew her knee out a few months prior. That sumo match is a total anomaly. No clue what that was there. I feel like HHH-Batista is underrated, I think they got the most out of it story wise

Dale Harris I agree that the company got the most of out of the two in Batista and Triple H but the main event was disappointing for a WrestleMania main event.

Dale Harris and yes I believe from what I’ve read in the past that Trish Stratus was supposed to face Lita and drop the Women’s title to her at WrestleMania 21. Kurt and Shawn should’ve gone on last.

I find Wrestlemania 21 an underrated Wrestlemania because it had a great undercard with Orton vs. Undertaker, HBK vs. Angle, Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero, and the inaugural Money In The Bank Ladder Match

I just watched last week. Possibly the greatest pay per view with the worst championship matches. Top 3 ppv imo UNTIL we got to JBL Cena which was short. And the worst match on the card, triple H and Batista. Slow and prodding and long

This Wrestlemania was historical for being the place of many firsts - first time either Cena or Batista had won a world championship, first time that both belts changed hands on the same night, first ever MITB match, first time that HBK and Kurt Angle ever wrestled, and the first time they made a storyline out of Undertaker's undefeated streak.

Wrestlemania 16, Backlash 2000, Judgement Day 2000. That Rock vs HHH/McMahon was one of the best things during the Attitude Era, they held it down with Austin gone. Undertaker returning for that Iron Man match was legendary.

All I wanna say is I appreciate bookers/creative in these Wrestling companies putting in work night in and night out just to keep some shows going for sanity's sake of Wrestling fans. I especially appreciate wrestlers and producing crews working up until 3 in the morning some nights to produce pretaped shows for us to watch while they rightfully get 2 weeks off to rest. Hope everyone stays safe and protected in this time.

@@paulsherick1979 Cena didn't kill wrestling, McMahon did. Don't be mad at Cena for doing what the boss told him to do to make tens of millions of dollars. Cena's matches were pretty great actually. You were mad at the management and you took it out on Cena. Management saw opportunity in Cena with merchandise and went that road.

In Jericho’s book he says the first idea for the money in the bank Match was called the Hollywood dream match where the winner gets any wish they want. He then said rvd was suppose to be in it and win and say his wish was to bring back ecw

JBL Vs. Cena was the most anticlimactic match I've ever seen. Months and months of JBL cheating and screwing people out of a fair bout for the title. His cheating and outside interference helped him survive against people like Eddie, Taker, Angle, and Big Show that could have beaten him under more fair circumstances. If Cena was going to beat JBL, he should have had to overcome all the screwy cheating that nobody else could get past. Because he didn't, the end result felt hollow. I mean...yeah, he beat JBL straight up...anybody could have done that. But JBL didn't have a masterplan heading into Wrestlemania? Anything? Bruce says it told a story. What story? The story to me felt unfinished. Cena's win felt incomplete, and JBL's reign ended in a way that felt hollow.

That's why when everyone praises Angle/HBK....as they should...they negate the fact that by it going over on time, it forced the Cena and JBL match to be reduced. Now, regardless of this, two pros can still go out there and work around it, but we don't know what other restrictions they might have been burdened with. I think it's important to remember why time cues exist and how crucial they can be. Bruce would know this well, I would presume. Cena and JB was the match I was looking forward to the most. It had an organic and easy to understand storyline. It had a well defined heel and babyface. Then it ended up feeling like a house show match. They would go on to have a 4 star classic at Judgment Day, but I feel this was a wasted opportunity. It also added some heat on Cena that would percolate into the divisive crowd reactions he would later deal with.

Well, WrestleMania was hardly ever the end of a feud back then, the following PPV was the end of the feud. The Rock finally beat Triple H at Backlash, Batista finally beat Triple H at Vengeance, Undertaker finally beat Edge at SummerSlam. WrestleMania was hardly ever the end of a feud.

I still remember this show like it was yesterday. Absolutely blinding show. And a largely forgotten gem. Money In The Bank match was born, Shelton Benjamin truly arrived, Edge’s star started to rise, though not exactly known, Cena and Batista had their moments and HBK/Angle and Taker/Orton had very enjoyable matches, especially the 1st. Pipers Pit was great fun as well. And so much more.

I agree this Wrestlemania was under the radar. Many people dont remember that it actually happened. I thought all the matches told great stories. Even Trish and Christy. I think Christy felt out of place maybe cause it looked original plans had Trish and Lita feuding into mania but Lita injured her ankle at New Years Revolution and they had to pivot.

No, Vince McMahon never had that Attitude Era gear in him that's why the company shifted from that very quickly, he only knows the cartoonish wrestling that we had in the 80's with Hogan and it restarted with Cena. While it worked in the 80's, by the 1990's Vince was clueless to the changes in the mainstream around him and he hasn't gotten any better since. Of course it doesn't help to put your daughter in creative in 2000 and making her head of creative in 2002 but it's not my company so...

Bruce, don't give any thought to the negativity. True fans of this show had truly hoped for you to get back with Vince, because it was so obvious that's where you belonged. You were clearly qualified, but I have no doubt that this show got you back there. That alone gives me satisfaction, but the fact that you are loyal to both this show and Conrad is the icing on the cake. I remember driving home one day. I was being aggressively tailgated by another vehicle- and all in a residential area. My blood was BOILING; I was ready stab some kidneys. As I readied for mortal kombat, I saw the car pull to the right behind me. It pulled up to a house with an ambulance and a cop. The lesson being: always give the benefit of the doubt. We all deal with the same horseshit.
