I was sick as a dog shooting this video and almost didn’t release it. Let me know which one resonates with you the most.
@pattgsm

Unapologetically, #5 is me all the way. I will monitor a maker’s website for a yr or 2 just to see when/if they run end of season and holiday sales. I’ll determine if they handle sales in phases such 15, 25, 30, 40%. If I miss out on my size, I know some version just as beautiful will be available in the next season or 2 and I’ll have a good idea when I can score w/o paying full retail. It’s very rare when something is never on sale or discounted. I never shop w/ urgency when it comes to my wardrobe or other big ticket items I research, watch, and wait hair the best deal. The only exception is something like a Kent Wang cardigan which is never on sale but ALWAYS in stock or available for ordering at fair competitive full retail. P.S. Hope you’re feeling 100% soon.

Thanks, man! Still sick but will get better soon hopefully. I do buy stuff in the off-season myself to save money but it’s usually things that are one size fits all like ties, scarves and pocket squares. I hate to risk my size being sold out if I really like something.

You know, it used to be that you wore gym cloths at a gym. You'd change your cloths when you left cause you wouldn't go to the grocery store in your gym cloths. And if you went to a wake later you'd change tour cloths again. Then it became ok to just "run in" to the grocery in your gym clothes. And then to a wake in your grocery store cloths. Point 9 resonates the most because its been the focus for a few years in my own journey. It’s probably the hardest aspect of mens style to navigate in my opinion because money alone doesn’t fix it and reference points are more limited. Much easier to outsource a professional wardrobe these days, particularly classic menswear, than it is to develop an understanding of fabric selection, textures, colour matching, layering, and especially cut for that middle ground. Tight chinos, hoodies with sports jackets, untucked business shirts, cafe racer jackets, footwear farmers wear… 😂

A watch. Essential. I have no watch and I don't like my skinny wrists so that's a no brainer. I recently got into fragrance and that's been a big rabbit hole but I'm curating suggestions and getting samples. YSL Y is the truth. EDT for longevity and projection, folks. Le Parfum for punch only. As for filling holes in your wardrobe, that also is essential. I'm going for the elevated casual look and I still have no shoes to match nor do I have a suitable jacket. Bleh.

You know which one is closest to my heart bro. Put on a scent gentleman. The first item women look at is a man's shoes. The second thing that draws a woman in is your scent. It's primal. There is absolutely nothing sexier than having a woman call you maybe an hour after you've hugged her, and says, I can still smell you on me. Gentleman, you're in there like somewhere after that. She will always associate said fragrance with you....... for life.

In regard to watches- for 7 years I managed a luxury watch store that was franchised for Rolex,Omega,Tudor and Longines to name a few. What was obvious was that those buying Rolex had no intention of diving, flying or timing yacht races. Their intent was to impress those they thought cared. And they thought that made them cool. Money can’t buy class or style.
@v_r_
@v_r_ Год назад
I had a feeling that was the case most of the time. Every time I mentioned that one should wear a dress watch with tailored clothing, someone always pulls James Bond out their backside as an example of someone who wore a Seamaster. I don’t think they realize that it’s not a real person 😂😂. And better yet, there’s always a chance that he may actually need it at any second. And even if he were real, there’s only one James Bond.

Of course very few buy expensive items, such watches for diving, SUVs for off roading, sports cars for racing, or aeronautical watches for flying jets at mach one. So you think Rolex isn't classy or stylish. Most tech is underused, so we shouldn't buy a nice smart phone or laptop? Did you not align with the brands you were selling? If you are intending to denigrate buyers of nice watches, you are offending a lot of people who aren't classless, style- less souls. Some good points on this channel but the over the top take on non dress watches is out of sync with other creators and watch community channels

One thing people overlook is the history behind what you're wearing. I know you clown on the diver's watch but whats worse is wearing something like it without understanding why. Divers' watches are designed for the best readability under water possible. This enhances the readability overwater, too. Especially under poor light conditions diver watches are unmatched. Even at first glimpse you can read the time perfectly well.
@v_r_

To be clear, I don’t have any issues with divers at all or any tool watch for that matter. I’m looking for a diver now, I just don’t like them with tailored clothing. But you are right, I don’t think that most people that wear tool watches truly understand their true function.
