When I was in middle school I had some cute cold shoulder tops that I loved. Then, a boy in English class looked me in the eye and said, “Why are you wearing that? Nobody wants to see your body.” And I never wore those shirts again. I think I’m over it but the fact that I still remember that shows how important those young teenage and preteen years are.
middle school boys r the worst 😭 one time when i was 11ish a girl asked me “are you wearing a bra” and i said no and she was like “…..you should” and even though i never wear a bra to this day, it’s something I *still* think about sometimes and laugh at. stuff that’s said to you during your preteen/teen years really is so formative

I had a boy in middle school tell me my highlights in my hair looked like someone peed in it. I still never forgot that, but currently have my hair highlighted 😂 and that boy still acts the same and recently got married his poor kids

@@Funnygenderman 😂 I just remember being mad when they moved away from goth the first time around. In the 2010s I didn’t live near a Torrid, tho, and I did live near a lot of rich people donations at thrift stores that shockingly were in my size… so I missed a lot of the horrors firsthand. 😂

Wait, wait, I LOVE THAT HIGH LO SKIRT. 😂😂😂 I never stopped loving them. I often do what you did and I change my longer skirts into high low with skirt hikes that you wear on belts (just a length of leather and loops to run the skirt thru - very common in cosplay/renfair worlds) or by attaching cute frogs from the fabric store….

@@lovejessicablair I graduated in 2010, bbg. If you’re talking mainstream fashion, not a cold shoulder in sight. Skinny jeans, leggings as pants, those seudy boots, scarves, chunky jewelry, these are early 2010s. Cold shoulder tops were more widely worn in 2016-2017 era.
