It's actually very easy to do, I did 3 installs of this so far and created videos of each. I cut around pot lights , fixtures and more. Great video, straightforward instructions and I love having the video as a visual aid. I bought some of these kinds of tiles for the ceiling in my RV. I thought it could serve a dual purpose in helping insulate and be pleasing to the eye. I wasn't sure how to fasten them to the ceiling but thanks to this video I can get started on it today, woot!
On the smaller edge pieces, instead of just lopping off one end, cut out the center of a piece and join the two finished, framed ends, then join those in the center with some filler to create rectangular frames. That way they match the look of the rest of the tiles without a continuous, unfinished length of ceiling.
I installed these in my basement to cover imperfections in my old house. Looks good so far. But, now I have to figure out how to install around piping that is coming out of the ceiling (again, old house).
I've found that the dime size dollops do not work if you install over a popcorn ceiling as the moisture in the adhesive cause the popcorn to detach from the sheetrock. I think it works best to go ahead and take off the popcorn before installation
Angela, it depends on your ceiling; some ceilings are painted, and the paint protects it from loosening up. We have done ceilings where the ceiling did get loose because of the moisture but other did not. Taking off is fine, just make sure there is no asbestos and wipe off dust so the glue does not stick to dust if you are putting up tiles.

@@brigildea Hey Brian, great to hear you are pleased. Yes, most of the time people cover the edge of the last tile with crown molding. Because of your videos I am highly considering buying from this brand. I plan to redo my daughters popcorn ceiling bedroom. Her bed is a loft bed so it’s very high. She is very active and I’m worried if she were to take her finger nail and draw on these panels it would ruin them. What do you think?

Hello Nataly, well it could be the glue or the surface. Either the glue is not the right glue or it is expired. It could also be the surface not being stable enough or dusty and glue stuck to dust.
It can be done both ways. In this video the tiles were ordered already painted. However, it is not hard to install, caulk and paint the ceiling with a roller or spray it. Now of course it will depend your situation. Remember if you were to paint the tiles before yourself, you will need as much indoor space away from wind as is the size of the ceiling they are going on to lay them on to dry. You can surely do this in batches. For some people the best option is to get them painted.
