I've been watching your videos since playing dcs, I have watched all your tutorials, please make a carrier takeoff of the Su-57, i have some problems hooking that up, Thanks !

@@getsideways7257 do you know how hard it is to program an efm? I have no experience myselfe but have discussed with enough people that have to know it is extremely hard and you need a lot of aerodynamic knowledge and information to do it.

@@louissikkema5399 Furthermore, you better have a professional grade CFD suite for the calculations. But that's not the point. If you cannot do EFM, you cannot make a proper mod or module, simple as that. And if you can't, better not waste time creating the model, textures and the rest of the stuff. Or if you can't find someone who can do the EFM... This is DCS. DCS is all about *simulation*. People who simply replace the Ka-50's 3D model with an Apache one are not needed here. That's GTA territory.

It doesn't. At some point cubanAce claimed he was working on an EFM for the mod, but that never saw the light of day. Just look into the directory tree. There's no /bin directory there, *at all*. No binaries, no custom flight model, simple as that.

Look up "F-16 Demo External Flight Model for DCS World" by CptSmiley. It shows how EFM is done, although it's for DCS World 1.5.x.

@@getsideways7257 just from flying it you can clearly see it's custom. It is SFM though. It may not be much with a stick but try it with a keyboard and it'll be obvious enough.

@@antoniohagopian213 It didn't "just" come out, but was around for some time now. It's great to see he's finally being serious about this project. The problem is, this EFM needs further investigation, because I don't see the airframe being longitudinally unstable (as it should be) and the FbW is most likely rather primitive thanks to that... Also, the inertia moments seem to be on the light side. By the way, I wasn't "hating on his work" in particular, I was simply nudging modders to move on from SFM to EFM and am still at it.

@@tbprod5 you need su27 and su25 too. You can use it without FC3 tho, go the "entry" lua file. If you scroll enough you can find 3 lines "make flyable" remove the 2 above it should work.

@@antoniohagopian213 I opened the entry lua file but the 2 lines above the one you mentioned was for the cockpit textures and the external textures. Are these the correct ones to remove?

@@antoniohagopian213 nvm I got it to work but weapons dont work. Unless there is a master arm switch that I dont see then idk what is going on.

I downloaded it but I can not run it. I can not press the instant action button. Any ideas?

yeah no sorry for reviving the thread but i’ve noticed this too. Instead of the cockpit having like any structure it is, instead like a flat box with pngs on. Incredibly jarring

There is nothing to be enthusiastic about. Every so called "mod" without a dedicated flight model belongs in the garbage can.

Get Sideways... I want... and expect... as close to the real thing as we we can get in our simulator/game from a paid module. Mod's... you get what you get... people have worked hard on it, as I said its not F-14 level, but I think they deserve a a bit of respect for what they have done. Its not for you... and its not for me... but as someone who's a real world pilot, made flight sim aircraft, skins and beta tester for multiple sim products and aircraft I think the designers of freeware mods deserve a bit of respect, because they have got off their bottom to give the community something different, for free, if they want it, validated flight model or not. I have paid modules where the developer has stated the flight model is wrong. Im just saying if your going to review something do it right... because in allot of ways that mod brings some unusual aspects, even though its not for me.

@@VRFSC Something different as in different / assorted clutter? Look at rFactor 2, for example. It's a great car sim, but thanks to these "designers of freeware mods" it's bogged with trash of little to no value. What good does that make to anyone? Why not bring your kids doodles to a museum then, since technically that is also "something different" and the kids "worked hard on it". There are cases when such free stuff is welcome and there are cases where it isn't. Even if you do it for free, at least put some effort into it, don't just say, "hey, you are not paying for this, I can get away with whatever crap I put together during a lunch break". I'm really tired of this psychology that if someone is working on something for free, they need to be revered and pampered. That's exactly the reason why the majority of free stuff is garbage.

@LäskiMursu69 Without a dedicated FM it's no A-4C in the first place. At the very least it should *fly* like one.

@LäskiMursu69 So, for now it's safe to say that the only proper DCS mod out there is the MB-339. Those guys sure put some effort into making a plane that flies.

You need to have Flaming cliffs pack installed for this mod to work.

yep, same goes for f22 and f35. no one can make them without guessing, so it will be another 10 20 years before we can play them and be sure its not guesswork.

@@grimreapers it's kinda weird For example by pressing RShift P (show pilot body) you change the left MFD.Apparently i have to check through all of them one by one

You might have to install drivers for your hotas I have the t flight hotas 4 and look up a RU-vid tut on it
