This is just great... Im in the band at my high school nd we play this song at sum of our games... I have to say this sounds WAY better than our version... lol
Brass tubas are better. SU would be smackin dat ass if they would use brass but they fit there style by using fiberglass cuz they easy to blast on... I played one myself... not anymore tho
Right! just like that lady in church who musically..may not be perfect but her passion will still bring tear to your eyes and goose bumps to ya skin. So i know where ya coming from my man
i WASNT REALLY PAYiNG ATTENTiON TO WHO'S VERSiON WAS BETTER, BUT i WAS LiSTENiNG FOR THE MELLOPHONES AND ALL THE MELLOPHONES WERE LOUD ENOUGH TO BE HEARD;;iLOVEiT!
I like the 1st band better but the 2nd band had a better bass and must've been a little louder since they were far away i would love to see them both play that song
I love both bands, but I think SU had the better arrangement. One thing JSU got SU in is they swung the chorus a little more, like the actual song, instead of playing the notes straight like SU And I resent this notion that just HBCU's can't play classical music. Do you think musicians in corp-style bands can't play popular music either? A true musician can play any style of music, even if they have a preferred style that they stick to. HBCU directors get the same training as PWI band directors
Chill out Juke.....no need to go postal on the net. You already know the Jukebox speaks for itself. Even in clip-form we don't have to say nothing because the proof is in the pudding. No need to argue with someone in H.S. that will never see the light of day in our band. People thought they knew everything about Egypt. Turns out people are still studying it 3000 some odd years later. S.U. Jukebox Fall 2000 Squad 7 B-Tone Chicago, IL
Recording do make difference... So you u also know that.. You knw sound is changes when it travels distances... So if JSU sounded like mush from a distance... it got to sounded even more mushy up close... I am not takin up for SU.. but SU's cleaniness showed throw close up so when it got 2 JSU the sound had to be clean... YOu feel what i am sayin.
Thank you I was waiting on someone else to notice it, but you know what we're gonna get chewed because SU students don't like to hear the truth I enjoyed both schools but JSU beast on SU. They sound clean and thats about all they had, JSU sounded the same Volume that SU did from ACROSS THE FEILD not hating just stating the facts. Now you can shame me and all that bull shit you guys are good for.
lol jsu had sound and they all the way across the feild and you saw how SU got waxed on coming to america clip and that time he was on the 50...anything else?
I love forums like this. It continually shows the uppity Sippian that they are STILL behind in this game. J5t is still potty training. And, those arrangements are straight out the arse. *listens to clip again* Man, how can you even open your da*n mouth after listening to J5t on here?...lol Esp, if YOU're one of those sad arse bass-clef "G" reach'n "screamers".
You mentioned the camera being closer to SU as apposed to jsu. In said logic, jsu would win the battle based on jsu being the furthest from the camera. You went on to bring up another clip that had nothing to do with this clip. So which is it? Does jsu win, with a piss poor arrangement, based on camera placement or volume? As for audio, the further you're away from a band, the better it receives. Meaning SU's full extent was not heard with the camera being that close on this clip.
who ever played first did better, im pretty sure that was SU...i like their arrangement better. the second one didnt sound right to me for some reason, tuba part maybe? idk. i liked the first one tho
LOL...you can live in Fantasy, Miss. all you want, young buck. Everyone knows it's true. No need for excuses when everyone that says they're weak...have a chance in heart after listening live. Face it...TF is sitting easy. When have they EVER had to struggle under JSt's f-horns? And, JSt's b-tones parts in each arrangement ain't HARDLY up with SU's level...so, TF doesn't have to fight them either. When was the last time SU's f-horns and/or b-tones wasn't crush'n the SWAC?
Um, a good majority of the posts are about the "arrangements" and not the volume. Based on your theory the only reason JSU won the battle is due to the camera angle? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Where is your logic? You could put the camera on the fifty yard line after measuring the precise measurement on the middle of the field and SU's arrangement would still tax JSU's(oh we're so balanced; sarcasm) arrangement. The power SU put on this arrangement was just the icing. "S"
Whoever wrote that arrangement for JSU must be tone deaf just like the ones saying that JSU sounds better because there were definitely some wrong notes the trombones were playing.Come on now;It dont cost nothing to be real.
now i kno how ppl are gonna have mized feelings about this but i think JSU got this one....everybody is sayin SU got this one because they are so loud but the camera is DIRECTLY infront of SU but JSU is all the way across the field and they are still loud as shit
oh so we have some form of education do we? well how bout this...you contradicted your statement sayin JSU did not get SU...you said if he were on the 50 i would be able to hear and i brought up the coming to america clip...now you saying that my last comment didn't agree with my first one...you hear how JSU is louder and well but of course cleaner on that clip and this one...but since you dont agree what is your definition of a better band?
