This episode hit close to home for me. My wife and I recently broke up and I moved back to my home province after we had moved to the other side of the country a little over a year ago. I taught her and her family everything I knew about Vanguard, among other things, and we both still have a lot of each other in our hearts. Megumi was a character she was drawn to when we watched the first season together, and I always liked Danji as well. I don't play Bruce, but she does have a Magnolia deck. We were together during the first season, and now we're apart for the second season. She's grown a lot stronger at the right time as a person to be fine without me now and I'm proud of her. I didn't have a final cardfight with her, but I did with my stepson.
I’m so sorry to hear this Sol, you are a long standing part of this great community and I’m so sorry that you are going through this. Best of luck to you.
Fun fact, the japanese title is ''megumi no ame'', the ''megumi is written to be both the character and the common phrase of megumi no ame, the rain after a long dry season, thus blessed rain. But rain could be defining a mellow mood, thus megumi's rain.
funny how they made Bruce lose this episode, I didn't realise Bushiroad had it in them to make Bruce look bad, especially after all it's ridiculous support
They've made the best decks look worse on screen since forever, Kai losing with The End vs Phantom Blaster Overlord in season 1 was probably the first major instance of it
Another I could think of would Glory Maelstrom vs Platina Ezel. Leon had every condition to win but lost because plot armor and Aichi cheated by calling Blaster Blade Spirit from like top 4 or 5 cards of his deck
IMO This ep should be a season1's real finale. Megumi's character development and Danji's farewell are fit for the end of previous season before start a new story of next season. And.. I love this ep very much.
Interesting how yuyu doesn't show up at all in Megumi's happy memories and things she's grateful to Danji for. Seems maybe she still hasn't truly moved past the jealousy. ... That or im looking waaaaaaaaaay too hard into this or maybe just didn't notice him in any of the flashbacks
Mostly because the memories that were shown were mostly like the beginning of her cardfighting journey and a member of Team Blackout, and you can't see Yuyu but she did flashback to that happy birthday scene in ep 8 which Yuyu was there for
Thank you for a season 2. Thank you bushiroad and the Studios: Kinema Citrus, GIFTanimation, Studio Jemi. For a fantastic episode!!!! Looked great and this epsiode was one of the best so far in whole series. It deff got me intrigued for season 2
Beautiful episode, and I still don't get why people is asking why she didn't use the umbrella. She just didn't want to stop the rain as well as her will to find Danji. I loved that detail.
He had richard + Eden in front row and we know he triggered a crit so he had that in hand. Actually it is possible that he loses if his hand is all g3 since mag attacks were 23van+25+25+18+18+25
Edit: my bad two of the units in her field actually have +5k more power due to her having Aleio on board and it looks like it was at the back row too so she must've used it to power up the bulbalax front row had +10k due to the ability of person ride, both her front row units were dooger which meant those got +5k more since she had a full board so those were 25k swings, the g1s in the back row were gonna hit for 18k which are magic numbers and the g2 was gonna hit for 25 which again is a magic number on top of any trigger Megumi got which was likely since she hadn't check a single trigger that game outside of that miracle heal. It is possible to get 2-6 by Magnolia especially with Danji's low hand, no triggers and he could've had just blanks in hand
Anyone notice the hand in 25:53? It doesn't look like Megumi's (looks too bulky), and seeing as the person she's talking to is blond AND she's talking about Wonder Hill's destruction: I think that's Tohya. Oh my god is Tohya too gonna crossdress? XD
This episode is why I love Overdress. Irs not off-the-wall crazy, but a nice slice of life with a card game bringing people together. 10/10 retuning episode
Imagine what it would've been like if there was some kind of Ultimate Cardfighter (超高校級の「カードファイター」 lit. Super High School Level Cardfighter) in the Danganronpa series. Hypothetically speaking, of course.
This episode was quite different compared to usual episodes. A little bit awkward in my opinion but still very nice :). I couldn't have imagined that the name of the butler of Megumi's family would be Jeeves. But I seriously don't trust Tohya.
Let me get this straight, for those who understand: Bazzard Black, also known as Bazz-B is going to simp with Morfonica vocalist Mashiro. Unfortunately the somewhat hot headed Bazz-B will betray Mashiro and her team for his sister, Lisa Imai
Que bueno que tambien pusieron subtitulos en español se agradece, forma tranquila de empezar la segunda temporada buen cap, aunq es raro ver a danji tan serio XD
Holy crap I can't believe it I missed it I'm in the life is now. Monday's I don't know if I can get used to this. Anyways as sweet and beautiful this episode was really is weird for it to be in episode 1 guess I'm just going to have to give it some time to get really get rolling.
It’s a Vanguard anime dude it’s just made in a different way since the old anime’s were just really bad , it’s way better than the crappy animation and crappy character development and crappy story of old Vanguard anime’s. Don’t like this new format just rewatch the old ones
I don't want to be that douche, but I have to say it. I get that we need to feel some emotions and stuff. But I felt that you wasted a lot of time with flashbacks that we saw in the last season. And I wanted Danji to lose, but not like this. I don't feel like Megumi deserved this win, she didn't improved her play style at all. At least it would make sense if Danji let her win out of pity. I want to see in the future some animated fights and not just vanguard vs vanguard, I want to see the help of rearguards from time to time. I get it that it takes beget to animate some units, but at least I want to se a unit guarding the vanguard animated, or a trigger giving the vanguard power animated, or a unit sacrificing itself to guard the vanguard in a more realistic and dynamic way. I don't ask for this every episode, but I want 1 or 2 important fights to have this treatment this season. The viewers have see the bonds of the characters with the units. Like how Aici treasured Blaster Blade, and it gave us hype every time he summoned him.
Dude the old anime’s had crappy animations , character development was bad and the story made no sense at all this is great also Bushiroad did said they were going to a new direction for this one , it would be Vanguard as a card game in rl that people play for fun not Vanguard where another dimension exists and monsters are real. Don’t like it don’t watch it hater
@@symphonixblades Yes you’re right but OG anime was liked because it had cardfights. Overdress doesn’t have cardfights, story characters or anything really just decent animation
@@grau1032 huh you're not right dude Overdress still have Cardfights just not exaggerated card fights where monsters are real, it have more realistic card fights and still shows ace monsters fighting in Final rush, it definitely have a story the bad guys beating up Vanguard teams and shutting them down, Danji had to leave because of them, Tohya redemption, Yuyu change of heart all that its part of the story there's a story in Overdress. And there's definitely character development too Yuyu becoming more bold and less shy or afraid when playing Vanguard, Tohya becoming more friendly and starting to trust people and develop friendships, Megumi decision to become stronger on her own now that Danji left, Danji way of playing differs from how he normally plays, something is bothering him and the consequences of being forced to leave and how that changes him and everyone around him. There's story, there's cardfights, there's character development all that exists in Overdress it might not be in a format you're used to, it might not be in a format you understand or like but it's all there. Maybe you just need to watch more slice of life animes to understand Overdress and to understand how different it is from other card games animes while retaining the most important stuff because monsters fighting its never the important stuff in animes its how the story goes, how the characters develop and in case of a card game anime if it still shows the card fight which Overdress still does might not be something you're used to might not be something you enjoy but it still retains what's important in a card game anime and it differs from other card games animes as well (perhaps because you have never saw something similar so you're not used to perhaps because you keep comparing it to other Vanguard animes when Bushiroad already said this isn't connected shouldn't be compared because this is its own thing with a different genre maybe when you stop comparing stuff maybe when you stop getting stuck in the past and in the same old format you know, maybe then you'll see what Overdress have of good) also there's no rules saying it's obligatory for a card game anime to have monster fights, nobody says a realistic approach to a card game is forbidden you people are just complaining because you can't move on from previous format or because you're not used to something like this so you can't accept it you just reject it, and this is why I can't understand some people instead of being stuck in a format learn to accept different genres different formats and how Bushiroad it's trying to do something different for a change instead off the same repetitive old format
The purpose of this anime is showing Vanguard as what it really is which is a card game that you play with cards to have fun or compete against other players it’s a more realistic approach at least makes more sense than having a dimension with monsters and an horrible story like previous seasons had .
@@esc1586 considering how I dropped previous Vanguard seasons and I'm not dropping this so far this one. But I'm used to slice of life animes and similar stuff so maybe that also helps me to understand why Overdress kinda differs from most card games animes
@@symphonixblades Just stick to slice of life. I mean maybe its due to u not seeing or u know giving the prev seasons a try maybe thats why u enjoy it more. I mean this comment is really my feeling towards what I want from them and U and I have different perspectives and wants so I understand where ur coming from.
@@esc1586 or maybe it's because I didn't enjoyed previous Vanguard animes or due to the fact I'm not comparing this with previous Vanguard animes because as Bushiroad said since the beginning this is its own thing not connected to previous Vanguard animes and its a different approach to Vanguard a different genre of anime for Vanguard, maybe it's you people that can't understand that you keep connecting this and comparing this to other Vanguard animes when there's no connection or comparison the only thing they have that it's the same it's Vanguard name but that's more like a brand name for Overdress because the anime genre it's different and it's not connected at all to previous Vanguard animes it's like how Yugioh does it that none of the newer animes are connected and Rush Duels it's still Yugioh but it's a completely different game and anime as well, Vanguard Overdress is the same it's Vanguard but with completely different stuff in both the game and anime. When you have enough mentality (not insulting you by the way) to disconnect this from previous Vanguard animes you'll probably enjoy it way more than you are currently enjoying it by constantly comparing this to previous animes
