Not only is Momentum your friend in soft dry sand but another very good piece of advice I got in my heavier 4WD vehicle days (2001 PA Challenger) was the best ever that came in real handy in October of 2013 whilst on the Manta Ray Barge to Fraser was "Drive it like ya' stole it!" That October was one of the driest early springs ever in SE QLD and that advice was a bog saver. Especially on the tracks from Eurong through to Central Station. There is one critical error nearly every man and his new dog does at Inskip Point when departing the Manta Ray and that is to stop directly behind the vehicle in front as that boggs down. Just drive around it and do NOT stop at any cost. You'll only get bogged yourself once you lose momentum and drive it like you didn't steal it.
Great job guys! I think the foz has good clearance for what it is. Better than it’s competitors (except jeep). I love my 2017 Foz. Looks just like yours but green. I put a set of Yokohama Geolander GO15 AT’s and it’s a beast in the snow! Cheers! 😊
Subarus are one of the hated care around cos it has cvt. Why hate cvt if surabu has it. It is different from the other car. Use to own late 2018 forest and i dont jave any issue at all. Symmetrical aal wheel drive system of subi is second to none i should say. Been in lancelin 2 years ago with my forester, does well too. Also doing beach drivin. And by the way i did not change tyres only using what it comes from the dealership. Subi forester is one of the most capable car on its class Have you ever try subaru before you hate it?
my wife's the same way, no matter what goes wrong, it's my fault, I have to fix it. This information should have been included in the "Men, what to know before you get married" pamphlet the priest gives to potential grooms.
Wasn’t in X mode just the PCS off as well as traction control off. Traction control in sand basically gets you stuck and glazes over your brakes so not a good idea to have it on 👍
@@perth4b4adventures cheers for the info, I have only just recently purchased a 2018 forester and seeing it handle that sand I was very surprised, I'm thinking it has a bit more capabilities than I think it has.
Absolutely it does you would be surprised with their capabilities. We have had a few on our tag alongs including our D’Entrecastaux trip and it did Callcup Hill 👍
@@perth4b4adventures so Paul why didn’t you engage x-mode? I’m thinking of buying a 2013 diesel manual Subi forester (these don’t have x-mode). Do you think for sand driving a manual with no x-mode would be better or worse than the auto on the sand?
It didn’t need to be in X mode bud the vehicle performed perfectly fine without it. We also have a 2013 model that performs just as well without it. I know heaps of older models that go awesome offroad without it.
