WOW! THANK YOU! I've been wanting to do a H6 swap into my 15 brz! The EZ36 is what I want to use And knowing that the FA20 transmission will bolt up directly to an EZ block is some god send info!
@@resuort Mechanically it doesn't seem to be to much work, but I'm not sure about wiring and electronics... Is it possible to do by yourself if you're not an electrician?
This is some really great info, I've been looking for a proper rwd trans for my impreza drift car and it's nice to find out that you can use the brz trans with a little fab work.
Sweet build man, really helpful. I am currently in the process of ez36D swapping a 1995 impreza wagon with a brz transmission for a drift build. Wiring hopefully wont be a huge issue for me though as i am doing a dash swap and am going to attempt to swap over the entire wiring harness from my tribeca.
I'm thinking of an EZ30R into a 3rd gen with a BRZ transmission. Hearing about the wiring, I may just skip it all and dive straight into a standalone. With some luck I can even retain air conditioning, but that's a bridge to cross in a year or two. Thinking of 4th gen lgt brakes and an R180 but I'll have some head scratching to do with the axles.
You have a lot of franken subie experience it seems. What are your first thoughts on the idea of an eg33 mated to a brz trans, with that combo being used in the brz or potentially that motor and trans being put into say a gen1 legacy? Do you think either would be doable fitment wise, or one definitely easier than the other. Would be a personal project, no real intentions other than fun weekend use and maybe a couple track days for the thrills. Thanks if you have any thoughts on the idea.
Personally, I think putting a brz transmission into an SVX would be awesome. You get the eg33, a cool unique car, and you make it more special and more fun to drive by making it manual and RWD.
@@TIRESIDE That's funny. The thought crossed my mind too after I sent that message. I would consider it mostly if it was a way to reduce weight by having less driveline. So many options when you have legos
Hey! Planning to do this to a 2006 legacy, the easier part is the engine is already in, however, the 4th gen I heard has a canbus system and all, is this ECU flash method work for that? or how could that be solved?
I am writing to you from Argentina and my name is Diego. I am going to start a swap project on my Subaru Impreza gc8 and I have a choice of the ez30 or ez36. Looking for information, they comment that the ez30 is simple to assemble but the ez36 is not. They say the ez36 need modifications. I want to ask you what modifications you had to make to install the 3.6 engine and what transmission system did you use. I'll be very greatful. hug.
