the launch looks fast from the outside, but when your inside it feels way faster. That AWD is very fun to launch. Better get proper support mods or clutch tho if ur pushing big power.
blankbug it has to do with the brake pad material. The more performance oriented the pad is the more it squeaks when cold. Once they’re warm they stop squeaking
I would actually say this launch was pretty mediocre at best.. shifted too soon, let the clutch out too fast spun the tires a little too much due to dropping the clutch and the launch control was set too low but it worked only because he dropped the clutch and slipped the tires. Best launch’s are 5800-6000 rpm by progressively letting the clutch out. I’d understand if your clutch isn’t good enough to handle 6000 rpm launches though since most sti builds are as ridiculous as mine.
I've had a Subaru Impreza once...... 2.5i SOHC to be exact.... but I loved it none the less with my borla exhaust and special air intake with a pipe that went all the way to the front fender fog light empty cavity...
Same here! Coming from a Miata (already planted car) the WRX is just fuckin STUCK to the ground I've thrown that thing around some corners going stupid fast and not so much as a tire chirps
@@ErectileSceptile agree I’ve tried to make the wheels spin in the rain and nope it sticks even when I turn and put my foot on the gas hard it just sticks! That thing loves to stay planted! I come from a GTI
My 20 sti is by far the funnest car I've ever driven the awd is amazing and it just hooks up around curves and not to mention I've caught air a few time already and it handles it like a champ
@@jacobhasenauer2526 the grip on the thing is outstanding! Also is yours the base or limited? Asking because mine is the base and the speakers are absolute trash! I wanna know whats a good speaker set up for those cars
I had a 2011 STI that was pretty built and it was awesome. I now have a 2022 G70 Launch Edition AWD and it blows it out of the water. Twin Turbo V6 is a thing of beauty.
As dumb as that launch is, he would snap the axles way before that trans gives out. That is the strongest piece of machinery on that car, the motors are shit but the trans can take a lot.
Incorrect, STI trans have held over 1000whp. Moreover, dropping the clutch barely puts wear on the clutch--Slip launching it puts much more wear. Even the axles on STIs are pretty dang strong and easily hold up to the abuse.
Fantastic. That sound is incredible. I have an Impreza with manual gears and though not as powerful, get the revs up and it flies. The girlfriend clings to the seat on country roads. Boxer engines sound fantastic when you get the revs up.
Man, I miss my bugeye. A proper launch is just exhilarating. Nobody to either side of you will be anywhere near you, at least for those first few seconds 😋. Had solid engine mounts in mine, made it even more fun...
I drove in one of these for an Uber. Didn't know anything about this car. i also won't say im a car person because i dont know what to look for, but this car almost put me to sleep. I want one . the light rumbles, and it sounds so different from the inside. I love it. My only wish was that my Uber was a longer drive.
Mate mines a old Forester with ej20 single cam and over 300k and ever reliable still... and for a non turbo little engine it's still got a good bit of power
@@Burago2k yes and no. Depends on the driver. This is why I love racing build what you want. Fuck electric I'm fine with hybrid but we got find a way to keep the combustion engines going alternatives fuels. I do not ever see my self in some electric car like tesla or really much else they just aren't it
Nice Catch! As an STI owner can confirm that sounded just a bit short. But in his defense without practicing 1st gear pulls, its super easy to under/overshoot the powerband in 1st since it goes by so quick. He may have been going off normal driving muscle memory of how long he was in gear to decide when to shift and a portion of that time in 1st was holding steady rpm due to loss of traction. Atleast that's my take if i was in his shoes, i don't do alot of 1st gear pulls and havent done any launches so id be in sensory overload looking out for cops, obstacles and overthinking how not to fuck it all up. The social/legal pressures can be real without practice, but maybe thats just me lol.
