Toyota owns 20% of Subaru stock. There's your answer right there. That would have to be one of the largest holdings if no the largest. Toyota probably put their cndidate in as CEO and now their CEO is gone and they are changing alignment, then Subaru will porbably need to follow. The 3 day delay was probbaly to organise a board meeting.

Subaru engines suck anyway, so whatever. Toyota should have used Honda K-series on the GR86. If they were able to collab with BMW for the Supra, they could have done the same for Honda. Imagine if the GR86 had a K-Series: stock internals tune up to 300hp n/a, 400whp turbo. Good luck doing that on its current subaru engine on stock internals.

When the chief of Toyota says battery powered cars are not what they should be doing, maybe we should listen. Hybrid is the way, and they know it. Subaru sells cars that are supposed to be able to get away from it all on remote dirt roads, a concept that seems counter to making the car reliant on being able to plug in to the grid and weigh much more than a fuel powered car. If you want a Tesla, get a tesla, if you want a Prius, get that, and if you want a flat four gasoline engine mounted properly with proper all wheel drive, get a subaru. The display is tiny and the button are barely visible particularly during daylight. It's impossible to see if the AC is on. I mean, where's the snowflake? Wut?! Lead acid / AGM batteries are 100% recyclable and that process has been around for decades. There's still room for development of that type for EV duty. Unfortunately, EV manufacturers have promised WAY TOO MUCH and that requires exotic batteries like Lithium Ion and other batteries that are not recyclable. EV cars COULD be easily recycled and still be good transportation. Imagine how Soviet Russia would have built them and do the same. Base it on a Lada Riva or GAZ 24. Built STRONK! Like BEAR! Comrade Boris can fix it, even after getting bent on vodka! The manufacturers must be forced to limit claims on what EVs can deliver. They should be sold as LOCAL COMMUTERS only. Recharge in your driveway and expect to do your errands within a 50 mile radius of your home. That's it. AGM batteries and lightweight unibody chassis should be able to do that.

My main issue with subarua is that dam supara outback suv crossover thingy going 80 miles an hour in the passing lane in the rural areas were the speed limit is 70 or higher and they dont realize they need to move a lane over

Should anyone tell him about Tesla sales being up 30+% YoY and Toyota being down 9% during that same time, or nah?
@wretchedrider2157
@wretchedrider2157 Год назад
@@brads1545 You can skew the numbers to tell any story/prove your opinion. I could also say that 30% figure year-over-year is because the volume of total Tesla sales was so low to begin with, a 30% growth since the brand has become trendy is really not that impressive. Meanwhile, the decline of Toyota sales and most other big vehicle manufacturers is due to the lack of inventory because of chip shortages and labor shortages, all stemming from global pandemic shutdowns and restrictions (which carried on for FAR too long). Basically, choose your own adventure to explain the numbers as you wish to, just depends on which side of the aisle you sit. Scotty said it himself in this video, Subaru only managed to sell 900 of their sole EV product in the US market. Any way you slice it, that's a big ole fail, my friend.

Charles and the ilk are pushing global sustainable development which means the profit incentive aspect is irrelevant. It's a return to Rome and the feudalism "own nothing" era but with a technological twist

Great video, I think EV should be an option but not the only option. I also think the management changes will hurt the company for years to come. The pandemic hurt all industries (thank a lot China) but replace these CEO's because of low performing number, that is not right.

Well if Subaru is already working with Toyota with so many other cars, why not just use the basic Prius hybrid system in the possible new hybrid Subaru's. Honestly I just don't trust Subaru making reliable hybrid systems right out of the gate.

Subaru should have paired a manual transmission option with the 2.5 naturally aspirated engine in the new Crosstrek. They used to pair it with the 2.0 (I think). At teh very least they could have kept that option. It is so friggin disappointing to me that so few people want to drive a manual transmission anymore. I mean, it really isn't hard, but it does lend a little fun factor to the car. I don't get it. Driving an automatic is mind numbing. At least in the sport version of all cars there should be a manual transmission option. Heck, even a Corolla no longer can be had with a manual transmission. I would LOVE a Camry V6 with a manual. I might need to go used

My last subi was the last I'll buy. My 07 2011 2015 & 2018 were great! I bought a 2022 sight unseen & I sold within the year for a mazda 5 awd. So many undesired changes. I felt like I needed a degree in computers just to take it up the road

I think they should have a modular platform and simply do all types of motorisation for all of their cars Also should focus electric at developed markets, hybrids and gas into developing and undeveloped markets Some assembly lines in a cheap Eastern European country, a Latin American and a African would probably make labour cheaper and may decrease materials costs and make entrance to those markets easier Btw they may need a cheaper car option as well for smaller markets
