This is Subaru at an extreme low-point for sure. I also cringed super hard. All his pain is coming out in a way that's entirely self-absorbed and self-serving.
Love this ep, and how Subaru breaks down. A very well written character, who will get fleshed out later on. And with the things you will find out, the scene, coming back to it, has a a very interesting flavour.
i really love this reaction, she understand subaru feelings but aware what he's doing and not justify him, other reaction always saying subaru is yapping nonsense and become cringe.
Subaru saying that Emelia owes him a debt suggests she was correct, hes doin these things for himself. You cant feel slighted over a lack of gratitude unless you already expected something in return for your acts, That's not love, or a bond, That's a desire for control and possession of the other person
Yep, even the narrator in the novels calls subaru out on this shit Volume 5: He remembered that she'd used the word please for both. Both times, Emilia had strongly urged him to behave out of concern for his health. But Subaru had trampled on her words each time based on his own selfish delusions. Somewhere deep down inside, he had thought of things so frivolously, as if good results would always let him smooth over his broken promises. But as a result, Subaru had not only disregarded her pleas, but didn't have a single proper thing to show for it; indeed, he'd only disgraced himself and held her back. He'd trampled on the promises they made together in other words, her trust. His claim, that he had done it all for her, was moral justification that only held meaning for Subaru himself
One of the things to note is that subaru can't simply train to be as strong as someone like Julius. A lot of people in this world are, for lack of a better term, built different. Training would only bring him so far. Also, Julius isn't vying for Emilia, but is already sworn to Anastasia (at least as far as I know and I'm caught up with the anime), his anger towards subaru was purely due to subaru making a mockery of the knights. A lot of the knights were a lot angrier than Julius was though, you can tell by the way they cheered when his 'execution' was announced. This will kind of be explained later, but Julius beat him so shamefully, that he lessened the anger of the other knights. If subaru went away from mocking the knighthood unscathed, then he probably would've ended up being murdered in the street by one of them.
I honestly have skipped these past 2 reactions, not because the episodes are bad or because of you, but because of the second hand embarrassment i get while watching them, i totally understand Subaru point of view and i see where he's coming from, but at the same time i die inside whenever i see him talking some crazy sh!t. On the good side, from Episode 14 and forward is where peak begins, looking forward to your reactions
Yea Subaru was mostly in the wrong but you can understand his need to be by Emilias side… he just chose the worst way to show it because hes still an immature kid. Like it’s understandable why he wanted to stat near her, but he also crossed some boundaries he shouldn’t have. And lastly his emotional outbursts are realistic, no one ever points this out but Subaru starts yelling after his “curse” activates and he cant tell Emilia anything. Its like all the trauma started rushing to him in that moment when he needed to tell her something, and it made him snap

Really , Whats wrong with you ? You like to oppose everyone that oppose the main character of any series ,right? I mean how can you defend Subaru who is technically insulting the KNIGHTS . He is totally wrong there . Knights is not a fancy term that anyone can claim ,anytime they want . It is an insult to the real KNIGHTS.
Bruh, relax it's, not that deep. Every show is written in the main characters' POV, so naturally she'd side with them, i do too. And besides, she didn't say Subaru wasn't wrong, she just justified his actions, which made sense from the perspective that she was looking at it from. Why must you insult others for having different views from yours
You're right, Subaru only messed up up to this point, Emilia made it clear several times that he wasn't supposed to go there or get involved in her problems during the meeting, Subaru disrespected her, disrespected the knights, disrespected himself several times by taking a few completely childish attitudes, said a lot of nonsense at the end and even completely burned Emilia's image who was demoralized by the shame he put her through, there's no way to defend Subaru at this moment (and the same goes for what he's going to do in after this before reaching the definitive loop of this arc).
@@K-Moth yeaaah bruh justifying lack of critical thinking skills... Even the mc can be wrong. It all depends on the viewer to be smart enough to see the obvious, and in this case, it was clear that Subaru was doing unnecessary stuff. Implying the mc would always be right is some 13 years old fanboy/fangirl behavior. Y'all the kind to say Light Yagami is right because he's the mc lmao. But y'all stay safe tho😂
