I like your candid way of explaining things. It makes it easier to understand. A+ on your videos! Keep up the good work.

Using assembly lube on pistons/bores is a big mistake. It won’t break in properly.

It's usually a lot easier if you put the pistons in up and down instead of sideways. Those tools do suck to.

u mean have the block on its side in this case? (it being a boxer engine) if yes then I did turn it later in the video... ;)

Yes that's exactly what I was getting at. I jumped the gun and watched ahead and realized you did put the block on its side and it made it easier. I appologize but great job on the series man. Currently watching episode 7. Gna be doing my 06 sti soon as well definitely alot of help and information. Thank you.

Hello, do you know the part number for the wrist pin access plug washer? The seal crush ring, I can’t locate it anywhere. Been searching for days.

how loose should be the forged piston?
@cruizinmax4017
@cruizinmax4017 3 года назад
depends what power your car will make, boost...also depends on the piston itself. For say about 300whp, probably .003 between piston and cylinder wall.

Great video, what forged material pistons did you use? Did you consider close decking the block? Cheers

@cruizinmax4017 4 года назад
These are the manley 2618 heres a link to what material they use www.jepistons.com/blog/2618-vs.-4032-material-differences didnt even think about a closed deck, 350 to the wheels is all I need

@@cruizinmax4017 Hi buddy, just out of interest, why not got for the forged 4032 forged piston instead of the 2618?, if your goal was 350hp?. My build will have 4032 forged pistons because they are rated to 450hp and my goal is 380hp. The 4032 pistons have far less piston slap and last longer than the 2618 pistons. Great build though buddy 👍👌

i couldnt find any 4032 with a bore of 97.5mm (1 size over) as i remember and 100.00mm (2 over) makes the walls too thin if you ask me, even for a mild build.
