Sampling some excellent Lakeland singletrack, this ride takes in Boredale Hause, Beda Fell, the fast descent from The Cockpit to Howtown as well as the technical Ullswater shoreline bridleway. This ride pretty much has everything from a riding perspective and add in a huge dollop of views, it was a pretty fine day out.

Great video.I’m working my way through your channel for some MTB ideas.Are your routes on Strava or a similar app so I know which way to go. I’m not great at navigating when off road .

Hi mate, I don't really bother with GPS devices myself so I don't record many. I have a couple of guidebooks published where some of the routes can be found, but no GPX.

19 1/2 mins in, you should walk on the gravel area, it is private :) Also, the gate on the left at the bottom of the gravel takes you up onto the Martindale bridleway you rode down. Another option from the St Peter's church to the bottom is the footpath from the top on the left side of the road. If there are no walkers it is a fantastic blast, sharp right at the bottom brings you back to the bottom of the switch-backs. Do you have a link to gpx for your rides, by the way?

Hi Stewart, this one isn't in my book, though maybe if I do a revised edition sometime... 😀 should be pretty easy to find the way if you get an OS map. 👍

Great videos mate! What do you use for editing? Ive tried using Davinci Resolve for some 4k gopro footage, but my files size always end up massive, and take forever to upload

great video. were planning on camping at pooley bridge this weekend. ive been told that the locals say bikers arnt allowed to bike all the way along the lake to patterdale via your loop. are they wrong? as i could with some ammunition when the odd grumpy gits stops us & start preaching the rules & regulations lol.

You can ride the bridleways mate. All of the trails in the video are bridleways. Show them an OS map and point out the bridleways, that's all the evidence you need 😀

not sure as it was a couple of years ago now but possibly lol. just wondered if there was a legal loop right around the lake from pooley bridge and back.

I'm a bit of an inconsistant Strava user. If you check an OS map and use the start grid ref in the video it should be fairly easy to work out. Its all on bridleway.

It's probably the mbr ullswater route, Google it for GPS download.
