Join us for this weeks trading at Watchtrader & Co where we have some unusual watches in store.
Stuart is in the shop with a gent who has his eyes on two Rolex watches. At first we see negotiations on a part exchange of a Sea-Dweller 16600 for a black dial steel Daytona and steel and gold black Submariner. In an unexpected turn of events, the gentlemans wife looks to seal the deal with a third purchase of a Datejust 36 with a mint green dial.
Next we have Josh and a customer concluding a deal on a 41mm steel Submariner.
We’re taking a look at some special Patek Philippe watches with Stuart. He has a Nautilus 5712R in rose fold with a brown dial. This is a brand new unworn piece. The second is a white gold 5168G Aquanaut blue dial.
Jon has a customer looking to sell his Datejust 36 16233, with a diamond champagne dial. Whilst he is here he takes the opportunity to look at a GMT-Master II Batman, the now discontinued steel Yacht-Master II, a steel Yacht-Master 40 and the two tone variant in rose gold.

So are we ever going to get a reply about that blue motif dial swap / wrong hands, that’s been asked multiple times by multiple viewers on the last 3 videos ? Where a “hard to find” discontinued dial, on jubilee and fluted was “found” and sold to the client with the wrong type of hands, and yet another watch that was in stock on your website at the time coincidentally also had the wrong hands for that dial, with plain polished bezel and oyster bracelet. Both blue dials, Motif and Azzuro. Both 41mm. Azzuro should have polished, motif should have Lume filled. Just answer your viewers. Most of us are long time subscribers

There is no guarantee that those watches are going to continue to be that amount over retail..... Especially when Rolex open that new factory.... And the down turn in the market. They're already making 1.2m watches

Rolex won’t flood the market even when their new factory opens. It was weaken their products. Also there is shortage of watchmakers

@@Jasperroodog they won’t flood the market but they are significantly increasing supply and demand is constantly dropping. People that have been buying Rolex for decades know that this short term hype has only been around since 2019. Before this it was only really the Daytona range that was difficult to attain and not that many years previous to that, Daytonas just sat in the windows of ADs with no one buying them. The head of Rolex even said himself this month, that the watches shouldn’t be viewed as investments.

Rolex will manipulate supply and maintain the market conditions especially for steel sports watches, they’ll likely just be banging out more two tone stuff. They are the masters at marketing they won’t allow their brand value to drop.
