You may Suddenly feel the urge to dance off. This reaction is totally normal, but not quite safe, since you currently are under [deleted] attack by a [deleted] leviathan.
Ikr. The ending of this song is the definitive abandon ship remix in my opinion. Still fun and funky like the original but feeling far more stressful and impactful. Too many remixes really lean into the EDM side of abandon ship not enough lean into the “oh shit my ships hull is depleted I need to get out of here now” aspect of it. This one leans heavily into it and it makes it distinct because of it. Also many remixes don’t manage to capture what makes abandon ship hit in the first place which this one avoids. Can’t really explain why the others don’t hit as hard they just don’t imo.
I, to this day, believe the Reaper is way more terrifying than any other leviathan. there's just something about it that brings about the primal urge to run away screaming
I lost not one but TWO prawn suits from the reaper and not because he destroyed them! He buried them UNDER THE SAND BY GLITCHING IT!!! In conclusion yes, the reaper is much worse than the ghost leviathan
It’s the lack of a bioluminescence on them and how you always hear them before you see them that makes them so scary. The reaper is one of only two creatures in the game (the second one I can’t remember but it might be the stalker) that doesn’t have bioluminescence plus they inhabit deep, dark, and murky biomes making them harder to spot. I personally fear the ghost more because they’re the only ones to ever come close to destroying my cyclops (besides a rude ampeel in the bulb zone earlier) but I think that the reapers are a better designed monster when it comes to being scary.
@@PrimalXenolith Dunno if you'll come across this comment, but Is there a genre you'd fit this into? I really like psyTrance, but most of the time the beat isn't fast enough. I like the sense of urgency and "on a timer" you've got going on. Sort of in the same alley as the ones from SCP some guy made back in the days. Just wish to know if there was a genre for it. Basically Redout ost, add a layer of psy on top, make it life or death and you've got the perfect combo.
This is amazing. It's not only intense but it also has the pda voice at the beginning which only adds to it. It also rises and lowers in intensity as you may escape a leviathan only to come face to face with another one in your Cyclops or make a narrow escape in your Seamoth. It's absolutely amazing and I can't wait to check out your other work. Also, since I do this with a lot of other music creators, he's a little treat for y'all to read. The science team would slowly descend through the Blood Vines as they made their way to the Lost River, passing by CTO Yu's Lifepod. After some time, they make their way to the inactive lava zone to find the leeches which weren't problematic. Their troubles began in the active lava zone when they came face to face with the massive Sea Dragon Leviathan. Unprepared, their Cyclops took heavy damage to its hull. One the science officers sealed off the engine room from the rest of the submarine if a breach were to occur, which did in fact happen. Alterra had wanted the science team to investigate the alien structure down here and gather a mass amount of ion cubes but they weren't told about the massive and dangerous creatures. They lost Leo too a Reaper Leviathan and Deborah to a Crab Snake. Hilda was unconscious in the engine room and Peter was doing his best at the helm while Adam and George were sealing off the Cyclops' segments. Finally, the captain, Carter, was out of the Cyclops trying to stun the creature with the stasis rifle Alterra gave them. It wasn't enough and he'd watch as the Cyclops was opened like a tin can, as the leviathan tried to get into it. He realized that Alterra didn't care about them, Alterra only wanted the tech with no regard to its employees. With one final deep breath, he charged the creature, knife in hand, hoping to slow it down long enough for his crew to make it out safely. Edit: Did a couple small corrections.
Cool Warm my spelling is fine, it's just that I typed up the story on my iPad and not on a keyboard and since I have big fingers, I mess up a lot. I'll plan to do a future edit to correct any grammatical or spelling mistakes
Around four minutes in I thought I heard a bit of abandon ship in there and I was like “oh that’s a cute reference” then it fades into abandon ship and I got chills especially after the emergency hull failure line.
@@CamoKoopa182 You bet it. Having my #1 favorite RU-vid funny man be somewhat attached to my favorite game of all time does give me a feeling of wanting to requote stuff he said in his video
this music works with the reaper really well one thing i like is that it sounds like a chase, and that the starting beat sounds like the syllables of "is it worth it"
this mix is fantastic. the emotions it conveys to me is amazing. the desperation it gives off as if you went into the wrong territory and are fighting to get out as you get swarmed by creatures the size of your ship. the abandon ship part at the end especially speaks to me giving me the feelings of being done running. seeing no way out but through the leviathan like you're ejecting from the cyclops into the prawn leaving it for dead. the whistling sound in the background of the typical tune i feel represents the leviathan as it has a slight delay for it to start up as if the beast is realizing the job isn't done. this is further conveyed as the whistling grows in ferocity while abandon ship remains blaring and unrelenting. the beast grows angrier as it tries and fails to crush you but the player stays firm in their goal the whole time as abandon ship stays the same the whole time. both end up ceasing leaving the fate of the leviathan and the player emotionally unknown.
i was playing subnautica and when i heard the multiple leviathan class line my dumb brain thought "oh this must be sea treader path as they are technically leviathans and they move in groups" first jumpscare the game gave me
How did it take me this long to find this? This is really good, I like it a lot and now I have some music to listen to while causing the extinction of the Reaper Leviathan species on 45456B.
The best remix I have ever seen, btw remix on the abandon ship at the end it sounds pretty cool, I think it would sound even better with added in the background cyclops's explosing siren. maybe I'll do something similar later.
Thanks! I actually love that suggestion. Long after this remix, I came up with an emergency alarm idea similar to that and ended up applying it in my "Gargantuan" track.
This remix is lovely! Would you consider remixing Cuddlefish from Subnautica, too? I never did understand why fight music had such a good name, heh! It seems like it would be a fun one
"Detecting multiple leviathan class life forms in your area. Are you sure whatever you're doing is worth it?" Me: *cocks stasis rifle* "This is where the fun begins."
Welp looks like my comment got deleted on yet another master piece so you know the drill... Ngl this is tied in my opinion for the best remix you've made. First, the way the pda says "are you certain whatever you're doing is worth it" and a few seconds later the beat.starts to kick up is just amazing. And were do I even BEGIN with the transition into abandon ship. I love how you faintly hear the first 4 notes as the Cyclops tells you to abandon ship. And then the "alarm" sounding build up to it as it finally drops is SOOO amazing. And honestly after listening to the original in the sound track... I wouldn't say this is a remix. I'd say this is an original piece. The fact that you can turn A minute thirty song that rarely plays in the original into A 5 minute masterpiece????? Is truly inspiring. So sorry for leaving you with an entire essay lol but work this good deserves it! I truly wish you the best and KEEP. UP. THE. WORK. And one last note. I've been trying to make a sheet music version of this and its going along alright. But I've been typing this for 20 mins now so ill let you get back to what you were doing. Never give up. You'll always have people to support you. And keep up the good work.
this is incredible, i do kinda feel like it doesn't capture the absolute BEAT of the original leviathan, though I think it's crazy in it's own right. this is QUALITY
Of all the games I’ve beaten a number of times this is still one that every couple of months I hear something like this related to Subnautica and I instantly get an urge to start a hardcore run and TO THIS DAY I still am not a fan of the Dunes or the rear of the Aurora, been to both locations a dozen times over but still hearing that unmistakable roar; not the distant one, but the “I’m on your 6 and there isn’t a damn thing you can do from this point”; is still hair-raising, praying for another installment after Below Zero, maybe a prequel? A Degasi survivor no one talked about?
