These ignorant people commenting that "It's just a game" are clearly not bright enough to see the rise of E-sports and what a big deal its becoming. As they stated this is becoming a culture in Korea, it may seem like a big deal here, but it sure is a big story in Korea.

well HwaSIn did experience all that hard environment since hes been a progamer for like.. 7-8 years.. so he definitely feels that the game environment has been improved .. and thats the biggest reason why i was so disspointed .. this case should be over now ... no one should do this anymore..

@mesobored123 Um commentator said that it wasn't such a case where their family's health was in grave danger or anything similar to that. Also, much of progamers involved in betting scandal was rising stars/stars, I am Korean and I sometimes see an article of how much these people get paid and it's a lot. at least three times higher than middle-class workers.

@thepathablaze I think the players announced are only the top of iceberg. Maybe there are more players who played rigged matches once or twice and then stopped.

the players that are caught need to have the strongest possible punishment, to set an example to other players that ever thinks about doing match fixing in the future
@brianious Something tells me that it'll be more than just fines although I could be wrong. Like I said, I don't know what the South Korean legal process looks like.
@sheky24 part of korean law i think they dont state who but they released last names and one of them was Ma something something and theres only 1 progamers with last name Ma which is Savior

I guess I'm the gamergeneration, had a lump in my throat watching this. But I hope... no, I trust that after rain comes sunshine. E-sports will rebuild with a stronger foundation. Once we beat this rough patch we can come back stronger and raise our head high. Oov seems like a very intelligent person, really got to me.
I guess one thing that complicates this matter even further is even if you catch these kids, they are just kids and most of them are under 18 years old so, how can you punish them? I don't know what the South Korean justice process looks like for minors but I think that just the fact that many of them are under 18 complicates things even further. However, if you want to grab the criminals who are dishing out the cashes for these kids to throw games away, good luck trying to catch them all.
I'm with Kim carrier on cutting out all people involved. although i will definitely take having an esports scene over not.... in the end, i only want to know everyone that was involved - rigged or helped rig a game. if that kills sponsors, then tell us slowly - but tell us that eventually we will know all...

I feel the same way these commentators feel about this scandal but I feel that they leave out the issue of why the players would do this. I didn't finish the whole video yet but I think they should kinda blame the system as well. These kids work about 10 hours a day for so little money and when they really need money cause of maybe health or family issues they do not have the money and they would turn to the betting for some fast cash.
@mesobored123 Now with the release of Starcraft 2 maybe Starcraft 1 will no longer have a pro scene but I hope they will continue cause I feel SC1 has so much more potential than SC2 but that might all depend on whether MSL and OSL and the teams will have sponsors or if the fan will continue to watch the games.

At least for the last amputation (see 21:05) we had a fully grown adult on the operating table. Now we have a fucking premature baby that was already in critical care. I wasn't too surprised that match fixing was going on then (players still broke my heart) but now? These players even experienced the whole betting scandal. How is this shit even fucking possible.
@mesobored123 Also in the starcraft pro scene you can only be a pro for so long. And when you are doing really good you will only be dominating for a max of a year or half a year. Of course during that time your salary will increase but by how much? Other sports like basketball or football in the US, players make millions of dollars for 1 season but these kids they make what 50k? 100k?
Airforce Ace is being disbanded too because of this? I really hope savior and lux get stripped of their titles, give them to the ones who came in second. (nada, reach, nal_ra, silver and jangbi)

i am not sure about this...but didnt Saviour as involved in another match making scandal a few years back? if this is true then he obviously did not learn his lesson....and neither will the following match fixers would either cos they dont get proper punishment. Anybody can a pay a fine. But if there were no fines but a permenent ban then they would think about it twise. You see for some this game is a way of life and for otheres its just a way of earning money. A permament ban fixes this issue.
어.... 일단 이 화를 전후로 해서, 16화,25,6화를 보면 아시겠지만, 실제로는 불법배팅사이트 근절을 목적으로 대대적인 검찰의 기습수사가 들어갔었습니다. 그런데, 이 불법배팅사이트를 조사를 하다보니 승부조작의 증거가 들어나기 시작했고, 잡다보니 현직 프로게이머들이 (그 당시에..) 줄줄이 연루가 되었었는데, 6개의 게임단들이 연루가 되었고, 그 중에는 공군에이스도 연루가 되어서 당시 가장 클린하다고 불리었던 E-SPORTS에 먹물을 끼얹게 한 사건입니다. 그리고 여기서 신나게 까고 있는 마재윤씨는 아프리카 개인방송이 막기 전까지도 본인은 잘못한거 없다고 발언을 한게 많아서, 지금도 저렇게 술자리의 안주식으로 까대고 있는 거예요.
-sigh- I hate this, I hate watching the Flash v Effort game and not thinking "OH AWESOME EFFORT YAAAY" and instead thinking "I wonder if it was set up" I mean, for a bit, I thought, -SPOILER- flash would only go 14-cc and Effort would go Rush build if it was set up, I mean it's so convenient, but then I realized, I would've done the same thing, effort knew Flash was nervous, and flash thought "It's game 5, I can secure a win easily if I get a better economy and pump out marines"...ul flash :/
I think I can forgive the other younger players for their offenses... but Savior and Justin should be locked up for fraud.... they are in a completely different league to the rest.
