2018 Honda Accord Subwoofer Overview. I installed a single 12 inch RockFord Fosgate Powered Subwoofer in my trunk. All models of the 2018 Accord lack some decent sound quality, so this was stage 2 of my install.
The stock system in this car has a low quality audio signal, a small sub will not be much of an improvement. I have the 2018 Touring 2.0T and even with stock component speakers both front and back it has a dry sound to it. What I did was install an Audiocontrol DSP, it improves the signal quality, then I fed that improved signal to an Audiocontrol LC4.800 and a LC 1.1500, went active on my new Focal Flax components, installed a JL Audio 12W7 sub, nothing but clean and loud.
TheBruces56 20 year old me would go all crazy with rear view mirror shaking bass. 40 year old me just would like bigger, fuller, thumpier sound. Nothing extreme or to piss neighbors off 👍👍
Are you gonna end up getting an amplifier for the front and rear speakers? Any thoughts on needing a signal processor?-I’m not sure how much the Honda factory head-unit tunes/equalize their output signal.
Hope you did not screw that box down right there. I bitches the guy at car toys out because the gas tank is right below that. “We’re u have the sub now” bring it out more before your secure it down. What I did was go to Walmart buy some Velcro squares and use Velcro to secure it down. Never had a problem with it since May when I got the car. Sub was installed next day cuz your right sound system is poop.
Just had the p300 12 in my 23 hatch installed. Its very tight n sounds great. So my question is with the p500 12 hit a lower bass note i hear they are slightly louder . Also is it worth the extra money going from this to the ported p 500?? Ty
Did you only tap into the rear left speaker? If so, what about the right side? I’m a newbie. Just curious. I’m looking at installing this in a 2014 f 150 super crew.
Hey man I'm really enjoying your vids so far. I recently got the same car as you 2018 Sport in Black CVT. I actually installed the same sub I believe too a rockford fosgate 12 inch 300W. I've noticed so far that it seems to do and extremely good job at producing bass, but somewhat lacks in the super low frequencies. Was just wondering if you were planning on switching out your actual speakers and tweeters as well or just the sub for now. Keep killin it man and keep the vids coming!
What kind of amp are you thinking because I was thinking about installing speakers and tweeters as well since the stock tweeters tend to distort with the volume over 25 on certain songs. I believe this has to do with the stock amp not being strong enough. Thinking about getting JBL's. Opinions?
@@adamrosenduft I'm definitely getting that same sub! I'm debating on installing the JBL GTO609c or the JBL Stadium GTO 600c. And I'm gonna add the JBL Club 704 amp. It'll work great for either of the two options.
Hey fellas I’m a new subscriber. Anyways I’m about to install the amp kit and was wondering what firewall grommet you went through? There’s a big one and a small one. Did you have to cut that open?
Beau Portman I wish I could answer your question. But I have a question for you. I just bought an amplifier, two component speakers for the front, and two coax speakers for the rear. Did you find that you need a signal processor after adding the amplifier and speakers, or was the signal leaving the factor radio pre-set to acceptable levels? Some people say that if you get a subwoofer, you need to get a signal processor, b/c many factor radios stop very low frequencies from leaving its unit, to keep their factor speakers from breaking/distorting.
Did you connect your loc wires to the wires that clips into the speaker or just the two wires that are supplying the speaker? And also how do you know which one is positive and negative. I’m in the process of this right now and I can’t find anything out.
I had the 10" version in my old civic, and the thing was amazing. The car got totaled (rear-ended) so I just got me the same accord. Nice to know it's reasonably easy to install on this car as well and keep it looking clean without having wires run on the floor of the interior. Ideally I'd like to see a complete comprehensive video on how to remove the back seat to make for a cleaner wire-up from someone but I'll keep looking online. Questions I do have, regarding the door sills, do they pop up vertically or do you have to pull the plastic towards your seat first to undo the clips and then pull up? Also, where did you run your RCA cables to? Not sure if they're tapped into rear speakers or if you can plug them into the back of the head unit.
Cool!.....I have a 2018 Honda EX-L it has 10 speakers, one of which is a sub woofer (if you want to call it that)….can I add a larger non powered sub woofer and disconnect the existing one?
Yes you can. That stock subwoofer is useless. It has no enclosure on the magnet side and fires in to the rear glass and produces no more than a farts worth of bass. Disconnect that sub and use the signal to a powered subwoofer. You will thank yourself.
Pete Gardner Rockford Fosgate Punch P300-12 Single 12" subwoofer enclosure with 300-watt amp Look that up ... It's cost effective and should give you enough quality thump
@@garageprojects8175 Rear speaker inputs have low frequencies rolled off on the stock HU. I have a 2018 sport as well and noticed low end lacking when I initially wired from rear speakers. You will get lower lows tapping into front doors. Hardest part was fishing wire through the door grommet but worth it
Why is it no one does the work correctly? What do i mean no one cares about what you installed we want the color codes to the speaker +&- your talking to much
