I seen thousands of singers in my lifetime and never heard a singer with so much control over vocals. The emotion and the ability to convey what he feels while he is singing the song is phenomenal. Any language and his music will speak to you long before the words do. Stage presence is awesome.

Apparently Queen was/is popular in China because when Dimash appears with the Super Vocal Boys to do a Queen Medley a couple of years after this performance, you see a lot of Chinese joining in to sing English lyrics.
Dimash did a Queen medley with the Super Vocal Boys ( A guest singer for Super Vocal Boys Singer semi final performance ) . I think it was the 2019 season and his English had improved a lot by then. As a Queen fan I bet you would love this performance and you’ll be surprised at how amazing the Super Vocal Boys sing. They were actually the winners of the show Super Vocal Boys I believe in 2018 . Fun fact Zhou Shen who I also love was a contestant on Super Vocal Boys that same season. Like Singer another amazing Chinese singing show.
Dimash was on the coipition with this song he didn’t know any English at the time if I understand correctly he had one week to learn the words & to sing in English. I believe this is correct.
This was Dimash's first time singing in English. When he came to the show, he only spoke Kazakh, his native language, and Russian. Having only one week to learn each song, his first 4 songs were in French (SOS), Russian (Opera 2), English (The Show Must Go On), and Mandarin (Autumn Strong). Brian May commented, "Freddie would have been proud."
Yes he did a great job considering at this time he spoke no English and had to learn this song phonetically. Freddy would have been impressed and Brian May was and even commented on one of his social media accounts

Funny story from his Mom in a tv interview. He was fast running out of stagewear as the show progressed she said, and he's 6' 3" !! At home, we, all our relatives, friends, neighbors were running all over Kazakhstan madly buying everything we could find in his size that was stylish and overnighting it to him. I called, how are you son, everything going well? Oh fine he said. But Mom, I'd prefer 3 colors of each piece of clothing you send so I have more of a choice. The interviewer said, what did you SAY to him? After all, he's working so hard, he's worked all his life..? She looked down for a moment, up into the camera, smiled demurely and said. "No". I fell out of my chair laughing ! Gorgeous, truly loving, Sveta's a tough cookie when pushed far enough.
@@anahills3836 It was on state tv in Kazakhstan but it was shown elsewhere as well. I'm trying to remember, but think it was a year or so after the competition. I keep wanting to say otherwise but she was sitting on a low wooden chair outside, Summer and I distinctly remember a view of that bridge in Almaty in the background. Later Kanat joined them. I came back. Later the one interview was often shown as though 2 seperate ones: one with her and another with she and him. She did one or two additional ones in the same time period with a hilarious story about him being absent minded and her time alone in cities, while he rehearses for hours, when its her turn in the rotation to accompany him on a trip. One family member or close family friend always goes on extended ones, it relieves stress and loneliness. They live traditionally, the extended family under the same roof, he's used to being surrounded by family and it's stressful on him being away for long periods.

Hi Bob. We (Dears) called Dimash's English Dinglish and loved every syllable in it. Now his Dinglish is turning into English, but the accent is still there. A reactor said once that Dimash's accent is growing on him, since he associates it with Dimash's beautiful voice and that this made the whole performance even more unique. You said something about screeming and belting and that those really were not Dimash's style. 🤣🤣🤣I must have misunderstood what you ment...
I have Queen quite high so covers I am often critical, but Dimash can actually do notting wrong for me 😅. What I find so cute with this performance is his english with accent (Dinglish) so sweet 🥰
I don’t mind his poor English on the singer show as he barely knew any English and he had a week to learn it, I know I couldn’t sing a song word perfect in Kazakh so it never bothered me. You should react to the queen medley by Dimash and the super vocal boys it’s fantastic
I teach grades 1 and 2 and I can say with certainty that English spelling is NOT the most helpful for anyone who is trying to figure out how to say a word!! If only our spelling were more phonetic like Spanish, Russian and many other languages! It just shows how good Dimash is when the only thing we can do better than he can is speak our own language!😃
