Possibly my favorite aspect of this show is Greg and Tom.. theres so much high powered stressful stuff going on and these two were the perfect pressure valve release. And who wouldve thought the disgusting bros would wind up on top haha

I am sad Succession is over... the creativity in the WRITING to make up these characters is AMAZING but the Actors bringing them to life is OFF THE CHARTS... we won't be seeing something THIS good for a long time
@@smokingscroogepack this is facts. I see the show as a familial sitcom/drama but cocked up bc their playground is maintaining a billion dollar company.
I predict two possible outcomes: either he betrays someone who didn't deserve it and fucks his entire career, or he betrays someone who did deserve it and ends up with a really strong position. Greg has been making some smart moves all throughout the show, plus this season he's showing some backbone, but he did become slimier than before and that's the reason I also predict a possible downfall. It's all gone a bit to his head, and he might overplay his cards.
Greg never had a "soul" to begin with. If you re-watch the episodes closely, you will notice that he had this two-faced attitude since the beginning. The difference is just that as he rose up the ladder this behavior became more obvious and consequential.

@@zrb901 Yeah, exactly, he was even more central at the beginning of the show. Him deciding to try to get close to his uncle was basically the original catalyst for the show and the audience’s ticket into the Roy family. He’s the show’s way of giving us an outsiders perspective so we don’t forget that the Roys have lives completely removed from the rest of us. Like, even most “rich” people couldn’t relate to the level of wealth the Roy’s have.
Yeah, Greg started out as our audience surrogate/comic relief that provided a large share of the narrative framework for _at least_ the first couple of episodes. Not to pile on here, but I think you’re probably confusing the character’s status with the prominence of the role. It’s a pretty big part.

I think the character seems to have Asperger’s. Additionally, as I remember, his parents didn’t spend any time with him. They were probably embarrassed and ashamed of his condition, as well as self-absorbed.. A person with Asperger’s needs intensive speech therapy and constant guidance and correction to develop appropriate verbal and nonverbal communication and social function. As a result of the neglect, his apparent Asperger’s is compounded by a complete lack of confidence.
I noticed on Season 4, Greg barely stuttering anymore. Probably because he gains confidence with high salary and higher positions. And he's way competent than any of the Roys children and somehow mature than any of them. He's also take risk and think out of the box like how he photocopied the cruise scandal documents and even keep some of it.

Honestly, the saddest part of Logan dying to me was watching Colin look like a lost puppy at the plane waiting for Logan and realizing he was waiting for no one because Logan was gone. And then seemingly trying to figure out what does he do now that his best pal was not getting off that plane. Something about that sequence was so profound. And so well done.

Greg, while not at the top is at the bottom at the top with King Tom, American Protectorate of the Gojo Technocracy And frankly, with enough asskissing and manuevring, Matsson should be placated.
